The egos, including the architects , and the EIC's (engineer in charge) make me wanna drink.
Much to my surprise I am NOT an alcoholic.
Hey anyone that has been doing what I have been doing for as long as I have and is good it , should never be afraid nor ashamed of admitting that they are good.
I leave the humility for the people that aren't so confident.

I actually believe you are showing true "Growth"!

Now if you could apply this, excellence, gained from years of hard work I have no doubt you have put in, turn into the ability to hear other people's perspective and analyze your "opinion" in order to be open minded, you might gain WISDOM and not just EGOTISM

I recall one game when there was like 10 seconds in overtime and a player went in on miller...instead of hauling him down, lydman let him go in to score...

anyone remember that, or is my mind a bit off?

- Michael Pachla

That was Leopold. Matt Frattin scored for the Leafs

I do a ton of "State work" .
Trust me when I tell you, they know their poop. (DOT engineers)
They just know if I am on site, it will be done right.
It's some of the private firm (piddly school jobs) ones that annoy the piss out of me.
They don't know half of what they think they know ON SITE!
They read spec books from the 70's and 80's until I tell them that there are revised editions, go purchase one and then come and talk to me about your 1 on 12 elevations.

Sounds very similar to how you feel about so many posters "opinions" on Hockey....

Can be assured you don't have 28 yrs working as a GM? or are Darcy's Brother-in-Law?

Heh yeah.. no I hear ya, desk jockeys don't know poop about the job site. I'm not at all ignorant to the dichotomy of the construction world.
- TheSabresTaco

That's not what I said.
The solid truth is that 9 times out of 10 what is drawn up at that desk does not work at my desk, my office, which is the job site.
And if you are indeed and "engineer" or a good one, you would know that!
28 years of experience telling you that.

Leopold and Lydman were both good 2nd pairing players in their day.

Pysyk has a little Leopold to his game.

First time in 30 yrs of Watching Hockey, the Refs in the Pens vs. Hawks game on NBC Called a tripping penalty against Crosby, which after review was a Bad Call, They huddled and then PULLED HIM OUT OF THE BOX????

Has this ever happened on a "Judgment Call" in the NHL?

Imagine the ripple effect of the penalties that could of would have changed the history of teams if refs huddled and decided it wasn't the right call????

"Maybe they should have huddled and thought about whether Hull's Skate was in the crease"

Today is the first day of the last part of the TANK.

Looking at the 2d, 3d and 4th lines makes me check for my own pulse. If those D-pairings were hooked up to an EKG machine they would be flatlining.

I have spent the last three or four days excited about the moves being made for the future, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Bogo on the ice tonight. But beyond that, I am really feeling tested by the idea of what this fanbase will have to endure until draft day. Generational talent, Generational talent, Generational talent.

I wouldnt be opposed to throw an offer towards keith yandle this summer. Put him and Bogo on the top pair. He's a monster on the PP.

Also what happened to all the rumors for him With franson and myers gone youd think his name would be everywhere

Need to keep praying the 4 teams ahead of us can manage to win 30% of the time. Should keep us safely in 30th. We're down to the final 20 some games.

Just not sure if he'll ever put up the same kind of offensive numbers. But I agree. Just being cautious because people like to get all defensive about stuff like that.

This is part of why the NHL is a joke compared to the 3 other major leagues.

Honestly, I look at this roster and I think to myself, Neuvirth can stand on his head every night, and we'll still lose 18 games.

You know, I never realized he was pretty much a .5ppg player his whole career until you mentioned that and I looked it up. Wow. Even in Buffalo he put up decent numbers.
