Murray has "his guys" yes, but that gets thrown out the window when you have the most talented player to come out since Stamkos.

Last I checked Mike Milbury is still on TV and not in a front office. Even if someone did think Eichel was a better fit nobody would ever want to be the guy that passed on a probably legend.

Both are guys he wouldn't pass up if given the opportunity.

Since they will more than likely picking 1 or 2. He'll get his man either way.

He said it about goalies and he also said in one of his early PC's "We need to get bigger up front"

Look at the recent drafts and trades.

Bogosian, Kane, Fasching, Deslauries. All big physical guys.

No to mention McNabb.

I'm not going to get into the trade, but IMO he is banking on a lot of guys panning out like they are supposed to. I feel like our system is semi depleted now

It is at the higher levels. I don't know that this is necessarily an issue as I think we are really only concerned about top 6 forwards and I think we will be set in that area after this summer.

FRom what I see and remember . He said he will trade quantity for quality. Seems to be he is getting rid of the burgers and trading them for steak.

I wouldn't say depleted but I wouldn't count on him going after a big fish like Kessel because of what he just gave up.

Could it really be that we are a top line RW away from having the majority of the build finished? We kicked Kessel around a bit last week. You either like him, hate him or like him at a reduced cap hit (I fall into this group).

If I am Toronto I offer to hold 2.5 mill a year to lower his cap hit to 5.5/year. If they do that he would be worth a lot more (not unlike how we got more value out of deadline trades by holding salary). I'd be willing to pay more to get him at an affordable rate.
