If they want to move Phaneuf, they will need to take back $2-3 million per year in salary. Same for Kessel. There will be no players in return for these bums. Lupul and Clarkson are simply un tradeable. So that leaves Winnik for a 2nd or 3rd and Bozak and another salary take back for a second.

Agreed. If the Leafs would retain 1 or 1.5 million annually there would be a dozen teams calling for his services. I'm not a big Phaneuf fan but I have a feeling the Oilers would like to swing a deal if not for that Goddamned no trade clause.
