After watching those last 2 games I see no point in being buyers. Yes they'll make the playoffs and that will make it tough to sit back but There's no way they go deep this year I've done a 360 with players on this Team trade anyone on the roster except Bergy & Dougie
That's It. Everyone else is on the table

I would throw Pastrnak and Kreijci on the pile of keepers too. If Subban is ready, I say even Rask is ready to go. He is an amazing goalie, but his fatal flaw is his inability to stop any kind of odd-man rush. Don't even think about letting someone get a breakaway. He seems to let 80% of the breakaways score.

Kinda agree with almost all of what you have said.

Rask to me is still up in the air........kinda think we wait another TWO years and then re-evaluate.

If Rask is a stud then great....keep him......if not then trade him and go with Subban.....Svedberg isn't as bad as people think either....FYI.

But....

Bergy and Krejic as our top centers......maybe koko and Cunnigham as our bottom two....

On wing.......we are screwed....

Marchand and Ericksson are our best wingers but........are either of them an all star......on any team?
I don't think so.......but they are well above average.

The rest of the forwards on this team are......mehhhhhhhhhhh

On D.......

Hamilton is 21.......21!
His Corsi numbers are very good in combination with his points.
He makes stupid mistakes but he WILL improve in the thinking part of the game......right now he is trying to do too much.

Krug, Miller, Bartkowski are solid bottom 3 D men and I honestly think that Bart has the most upside overall of the three.

Seindenberg and Charae........????

If we can trade them and get some solid wingers.........NO BRAINER! DO IT!

There are some good D men (including Johnny Rocket) that we could sign in FA.........

This team is not far away from being a VERY GOOD TEAM...........NEXT YEAR.

IF they grow a set of balls and make big boy moves!!!

(frank) rebuild....!

Make three trades......Chara, Lucic, as blockbusters (most likely after season ends)......then package Ericksson and/or Kelly and/or Solderberg and/or smith and/or Seindenberg and/or Bartkowski at the deadline..........

To me it's kinda simple........

Lucic and Chara are WAY OVERRATED......

Find a dumbass that is close and trade them and then make a couple signings in the offseason and we are very good again!

If the Bruins really wanted to be sellers they could really set themselves up for a moderate rebuild. Some decent UFA's.

Chia shouldn't trade at all for rentals, meaningful trades is what's in order in the offseason.
Build for the future, package deals to free up some cash so they can acquire talent that will fit the system, and stress fit the system!!

This team is too timid both physically as well as psyicologicly to make a deep push this post season!

Ride this mess out, and pick up the pieces this summer!

Chiarelli should be keeping his draft picks this year and not wasting them on rentals. Just ride out the rest of the season with the players they have. If they make the playoffs I don't envision them making it past the 2nd round. Spend May and June assessing the line-up and if he's going to make bold moves do them at the Draft and try to move into a top 10 position.

If Chiarelli and co. role out a line-up next year featuring Campbell, Paille, Kelly and a 38 year old Chara, i don't see how they would be improved.

I have not had the chance to watch the bruins that much this year but a few things became painfully obvious to me while watching the other night.

1. Julien has lost the team.
2. Seidenberg & Chara both look 45. As they go, the Bruins defense goes. Currently nowhere.
3. Darth Quaider is a bottom 2 D-man. Love the guy, plays hard, buys in, but does not have the skill to play top 4. The fact that Bart has been benched this whole time is absolutely ridiculous.
4. Paille needs to be benched. No energy, No scoring.
5. Pasternak is a superior talent but Lucic needs a battery mate. He is a dump and chase player that benefits with others who do the same. This is not Pasternak's game.
6. The Bruins need to be sellers. Soderberg is gone at the end of the year.
7. I am tired of Chiarelli. Best deal he made was the Horton deal. Worst? I think we all know what that is. Talent evaluation on the front end of this team has been awful
8. Rask needs to stay in his net.

Why would you keep Reilly Smith at this point? The guy has been flat out horrible for 2 months. Why would you sign this guy to 3 million only to have inconsistency again next year.

In my opinion, you trade him (plus prospects/other players) for a rental (Cam Atkinson? Vermette?) and Seth Griffith takes his spot next year. Griffith has shown he can score at the NHL level. Another off season and he will improve.

I'm not throwing in the towel on this team completely. If they face TB, NYI or even PGH first round, you better believe those teams will be hating it. MTL is a different story ofcourse. Should be an interesting deadline, but I don't see Chiarelli sacrificing the future for a run this year.

The Bruins success over the past few years is due to a system where forwards back check & play in all 3 zones. That is not Reilly Smith's game, Carl Soderberg does play in all 3 zones ... you don't trade Soderberg. Now maybe they can't afford Soderberg but that's another issue re: Chiarelli waiting too long to get that deal done.

I will argue that Soderberg is more important than Smith or Krug. Smith has good wheels but when he doesn't skate his game falls flat. Smith is also a shooter & with less shots this year than Bergeron, Marchand, Soderberg & Eriksson his game seems lost.

Krug is a defensive liability ... fun to watch offensively (as was DelZotto his rookie season) but not worth keeping over Soderberg.

McQuaid, Bartkowski, Hamilton, Smith, Krug, Soderberg, Paille, Campbell ... all RFA or UFA ... which ones do they keep?

All this talk of trading players,.. Chara, Lucic, Rask , even seids...

every player on this team is either overpaid, has a no trade clause, or both. Good luck trading Paille and Smith, at this point who would want them. Probably the only tradable player is Soderberg, and the Bruins lack the depth to get rid of him. Keep what they have, enjoy a round or two of playoffs, and start thinking of next year and how to improve the drafting.

Smith really overachieved offensively last season. A lot of people think he would keep getting better. I doubt he'll ever do better offensively than last season.

Paille, Campbell, Mquaid, Bartkowski and Soderberg are UFA....

Don't need to trade any of them......we would likely let them all walk though.

Other than Soderberg and Bartkowski why in hell would we resign any of the other guys?

Soderberg is going to get $5 plus for 3-4 years and Boston can't afford it.

Bartkowski.......I know we are all supposed to hate him but with Mquaid's injury history and age I kinda think it would be wiser to keep a guy like Bart and let Quaider walk..........

Knowing the B's though....we will let Bart walk and sign Quaider for $2.5 yr for 4years with a LIMITED NTC.

Why the hell would/should they resign Bart ? The guy is a walking turnover no way the can afford to sign a guy like Bart
All the injuries they've had this year and still what has he played 10 15 games ?!

With the Bs blue line down in Pro they should not be paying 1.5 for a 7th Dman

Because what is the answer?

Have you seen how slow Chara, Seindenberg and Mquaid are?

Why are they getting no crap from all the Bart haters on this blog?

These three are getting beat to the outside with speed.....they make stupid passes for turnovers........they get hit in the D zone and turnover the puck.......they don't even clean out the front of the net!

So you want to keep Chara, Seins, and then resign Quaider and hope Hamilton improves for next year and that's the solution?

Typical.....we need to get better........but we don't want to think about what we need to minus.
