Well, I said they don't have a 1st line RW. I would make that a priority, and slide Hodgson onto 2RW before I would make 2RW a priority and have nobody for the first line.

Im basing this off the assumption that they're moving on from Hodgson. If i had to choose i would obviously rather go after a 1st liner but there may not be one available to them

Wants and gets will be different from what you are thinking . Samson won't be going anywhere any time soon. Leafs want to rid themselves of that contract. They could use a 1st we might get before the deadline . never know.

Yes, he brings a lot offensively to the blueline, but you're then sacrificing a lot of defense.

Not worth it IMO.

Gorges/Weber (or fill in the blank?)

You could throw McCabe in too, but I think another year in Rochester couldn't hurt.

They're not really in a place to dictate the market. There aren't a lot of buyers available right now.

I hate to say it this way, but the Leafs are in a Tyler Myers scenario: the market isn't going to blow their socks off, no matter how highly they value the asset internally.

Like I said. Who will replace him and at what cost? We have him already.
Sign him for 2yrs and go from there.
