Where the rumour Kessel going to NY Ranger? Asking price is CRAZY!

There are rumors brewing about a potential trade involving the Toronto ‪#‎MapleLeafs‬ and New York ‪#‎Rangers‬, one that could involve Toronto’s star forward Phil Kessel.

It is being rumored that the ‪#‎Leafs‬ want Chris Kreider, one of the Rangers top prospects in either Anthony Duclair or Brady Skjei, a 1st round pick in 2016 and a 2nd rounder in 2015. Their is an obvious salary cap challenge that would have to be addressed and teams aren't likely to pay such a bounty before the offseason for players with long term and money.

I think Yakupov on MTL would make the most sense; for the style of play and with his buddy Galchenyuk. Having said that EDM would have to get a boat load back because I think in MTL he'd explode offensively:

As a habs fan I'd be pissed at this because in 1 step, prospect cupboard is thin. How does this Help Montreal right now for a playoff run?

Sekac is going to be a really good player, Tinordi is a question mark, Fucale has potential as a franchise goalie and then a 1st. To give up those types of assets I would want a heck of a lot better return then a question mark and a UFA
