Who is going to do that? Who is in win now mode that would be willing to part with prospects and picks and has cap space to take on that contract? - Iggysbff
nobody.
there has to be salary coming back to at least partially offset kessel's.

So has Kassian totally fallen off your radar? The only rumours you mentioned, and you mentioned quite a few with the "more to come" momiker... were public knowledge from TSN 1040 or the Vancouver Sun.

So, have you given up on Kassian? - Beatle_john
What radar? He is a not on anyone's radar!
And we gave up on him when Canucks fans gave up on him.
Trade Phaneuf to Detroit for Martin Frk. Detroit likes to rehabilitate players like Phaneuf, like Bertuzzi. Frk is unlikely to succeed, so no big loss for Detroit. Take a short term salary dump if needed
Trade Kessel to Calgary for Sam Bennett and a 1st round pick. Monohan, Gaudreau and Kessel would be lights out for calgary, plus Burke likes Kessel. Toronto gets a probable first line centre in the future and a mid-ish first round pick.
Trade Franson to LA for a 2nd
Trade Bozak to San Jose for a 2nd
Trade Reimer to Minnisota for a 2nd
Try and dump Clarkson and Lupul if possible. Lupul might pull in a salary dump and prospect. Clarkson...7th round pick...I don't know, probably too much for him lol

I like how the rebuild is going without having them trade a 1st in this draft And Bennett. Hell no. I would do it for the 1st and a b prospect though. Bennett is gonna be a keeper.

You wouldn't get Kessel for a mid first and a B prospect. They will get at least a mid first and a top prospect Or a top 10 first. If Schneider can get the #7 overall pick I am pretty sure a proven top 10 point getter can get at least that. I think Calgary takes that deal because no matter how good Bennett may be, he is still uncertain[/img]

Toronto has no leverage. Kessel has a horrible contract in a world where all top teams are capped out. Toronto might be stuck with him unless they eat salary

Calgary isn't in a win now situation. Why ship out someone who has the potential to bring more than Kessel down the road when their team is hitting full stride, for a player in his prime now?
Meh, I don't really see a fit with Bergenheim on the Bruins. He wouldn't be an upgrade over their top 9 wingers, and they're looking for someone to step in to a top 6 role.
To be honest I would love to see the Bruins dump Chara, Lucic, Loui and any pending UFA they have and start stockpiling picks and prospects. - fudd1689
Well you get your guy to call Mac T and we'll do some business !

I promise you this, you will be a bit dissapointed with whatever return you get for him....think Seguin only less.

seguin just had potential and didn't break out in boston. do you think if he was putting up the numbers he was now that they would have traded him for scraps?
kessel is already there, consistent top 10 guy. he will get a much better return than mr.concussion eriksson. not as good as a lot of stupid posts here are claiming he will get, but there will still be a top prospect or very good young player coming back.

horrible contract? uh no. consistent top 10 scorer, look at what patrick kane just got, 10.5M.
kessel's contract is great, but the team that trades for him will need to send salary back, as no one really has 8M cap space lying around that they can use freely, or they would have already.
Why would Arizona trade Yandle for Franson? Seems like a Lateral move to me. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
it would be franson + assuming yotes know they can re-sign him.
why? because yandle's upcoming raise will be north of 6.5M, likely around 7M. low budget team like phoenix cant do that, same reason why they are trading vermette since he will likely get 6M.
but apparently franson thinks he can get 6M so that trade isn't going to happen. if that's the case, just dump him for a 2nd to a contender as a rental, and let some foolish organization overpay for him in the offseason.
