Bozak and Franson for Strome and Lubomir Visnovsky just to take the contract? Maybe Leafs would have to add Santorelli or Winnik? I don't know but I don't see NYI trading Strome. - jimboscore1

He's fantastic but his $8M cap hit would destroy their books. We have to sign Boychuk, Leddy, Nelson and Lee in the offseason. It will be manageable with the current cap space and some contracts coming off the books, but throwing an $8M wrench into it would be a terrible idea. It's not a knock on Kessel as much as it is the desire to not blow the whole team up over one player. - eichiefs9
My whole point is we (Leafs) need to trade our our top guy for bare minimum, a blue chip prospect, several picks, or an NHL READY up and comer like Strome who will most likely be a great 2C behind Tavares, but has the potential to be top flight..... |

Possible trade #2:
To Mtl: F Nail Yakupov
To Edm: F Jiri Sekac G Dustin Tokarski 2015 1st
(don't think this matches the return Yakupov would bring) - AlfieisKing
Of course. |

Strome plays wing for us, FYI.
You made need to trade him but we don't need to trade for him. You'll end up trading Kessel to some middle-of-the-pack team that can afford to part with some things and is desperate to make a push for the playoffs. Minnesota likes super expensive wingers, try them. |

I don't know how good Domi will be in the show. Nylander is similar to P. Kane. It's a tough one. - Champ
Domi's value will never be higher IMO.... I think alot of people are on the Domi bandwagon from the World Juniors. Phoenix would be smart to actually sell high..... just my opinion... |

He was.
We have 7 natural centers on our roster. JT, Nielsen, Nelson, & Cizikas. And then Strome, Lee, and Bailey also. |

I was just trying respond to someone and knowingly Strome is really not tradable. That's all... It would take a lot to try to trade for him. |

That is probably true. If they are dealing with teams in the middle, I guess it's picks (meh for mid range) and/or their top prospects..... All I know is that this deal will be scrutinized so whoever is GM at that time better get it right...lol

I'm onboard with your view of Yakupov with the Habs. Personally he's one of the only pieces I'd be interested in adding, as I think he could really turn it around with Galchenyuk and the Habs system.
That said I wouldn't be willing to give up what you proposed, or what Edmonton would likely want as a return, so I as much as I'd like him as a trade target, I wouldn't like it if it happened - ehabs9
Thing is Habs would prefer Simmonds to Yak. |

Bad trade for TO. Kessel with Thornton would be lethal. Kessel for Couture would be better for TO. |
