Yes, the goal by Stone should not have counted due to an interference call not made. That said, the optics of this game did not look good. Just out to a 3-0 lead against a team not even close to being in play-off contention and then they went on coast. I know they won over Detroit 4-1, but after getting that lead, Detroit controlled the game for the last half really.

This team gets leads and instead of continuing to build on them, they let teams get back in. Last night's game reminded me of the last second loss to Dallas earlier in the year or even that choke job versus Detroit earlier as well. Game was in control; Pittsburgh chokes and it ends up in a loss. The only difference last night, Pittsburgh won in a skills competition.

Last nights 3rd period push was Ottawa should have been expected. PITT was on the road playing in the 2nd game of a back 2 back while the Sens were a rested team. And the previous game , sure at points Detroit made a push because Babcock is a good coach and make adjustments. But it wasn't like Detroit controlled the last part of the game it just may have seemed that way after how bad they started

Johnston said it wasn't because of anything negative he did. Speculation is that he was sick. You're right in that the 4th line last night was trash. 3rd was too but it always will be with Sutter on it.

I will tell you what, that better have been the case. Because if not, I am done with Johnston; DONE. To scratch the guy that has been far and away the most pleasant surprise on the team this season is totally laughable.

If Downie was a healthy scratch

I didnt get to see the game last night, but I see Bennett had an assist. Was he playing better? From all the reading it sounds like the 4th line was its usual craptastic self.

And Downie didnt play? He better not have been a healthy scratch with Sill and Adams playing. If so, Im with Bartley on the hating on Johnson train.

Bennett did play and looked pretty good. He got to the net a lot. Also had 2-3 great chances but got robbed.

Well ehrhoff is still injured and there has been no updates. So I left him out... I know martin has been playing great and I love to keep him but I think he might be traded for picks if ehrhoff gets to be healthy. .eespecially they way despres and pouliot have been playing. ..

If only someone wanted scuds

Thats encouraging. Id really like to see at least one of our O prospects from the minors turn into a decent roster player.

Hoff has been skating and if I had to guess he'll be back next week. Martin will not be traded at all.

Yeah same. BB needs to keep playing like this. He looked much better than he did the first game back.

The amount of injuries to the defense, coupled with the amount of inexperience for a lot of the younger (but promising) defenders makes trading Martin far too risky (unless you're upgrading his position somehow).

They could probably use an NHL defenseman. Why did you bring up Scuderi's name?

I'm usually at my most pissed off between 8 and 10. That's when I'm in best form. It's usually reserved for the irate, irrational Flyers fans.

Agreed. I don't understand people who think we can roll with 1 elite defenseman and the rest are basically rookies or Scuderi/Despres.

2 reasons. It would be nice to get that contract off the books for the next 2 years and to upgrade the 3rd line center......then ship Sutter for a winger

Anybody see/hear what happened between Adams and Perron in the handshake line after the game? Didnt look like they were too pleased with each other.

If the Penguins trade Paul Martin this season, they are basically conceding that they are not all-in to win a Stanley Cup this season.
