Nothing like the defense letting a guy go right down the middle on them off a faceoff. You can play Greiss all you want, but that should never ever be allowed, especially by your top pairing. That was horrid. Good to see the refs swallowing the whistle...and of course, under a minute left...you run out the 4th line...might as well just tell the other team, we surrender.

Greiss broke down long before that. It doesn't mean the defense get a pass but Griess needs to stop that. He has been weak.

Yeah, typical team defense from this team. 4th line being a disgrace leads to the 3rd goal.

Classic case of the officials reffing the score to keep and end up allowing the score to get close....too many non calls and that 3rd goal is an automatic interference call. How do u not give neal a two for a roughing on kuni..no u send them both off for ten...gimme a break.

Yep, refs allowed everything...Pens got away with a really bad trip in the OT, but there is no way they could have called it with what they allowed Ottawa to get away with. I still can not figure out, how you run out the 4th line with under a minute left in a tie game. HCMJ baffles me with his player choices sometimes.

Truthfully it was likely just the rotation. Id take that 4th line out there over the geno line if hey r tired. I mean it didnt cost us..but sometimes u see the first and second lines worry too much about offence for last minute defensive play. The fourth line and to a lesser extent the third line exist solely to go out and not be scored on. They dont take chances etc. Furthermore u rest ur stars for the opening minutes of 4 on 4. There can be a lot of logic in playing them.

Geno and his line were on the ice for the 2 quick strikes by ottawa. Sid was tired..and I would trust adams and company over sutters line to go out and get to OT. I dont see the issue like you all claim to[url]

Doesnt matter..u just had the same ppl get burned for 2 quick ones. Ull never see geno out there with a min to go in a tie game. Esp defensive zone faceoffs. That leaves sid..who was just out there...sutter who everyone hates..or the group that kills freaking penalties for us...I mean get over the hate...u all hate sutter..then u hate sill and adams and scuds and and and....someone has to play in the last minute of a tie game...im pretty damn happy with our penalty killers to get to OT and get the stars rested and ready for 4 on 4.

My favorite is after a usual shift of being stuck in his zone Adams finally gets the pucks and skates it to the blue line and then goes to chip the puck in only to have it bounce off his blade and go about 10 feet....at that point all you can do is shake your head and laugh

Even though Bennett and Sutter are whipping boys, that is a terrible deal for Pittsburgh. Two ancient players that don't solve a problem.

You put the best player in the world out there, tell him to win the draw and take a change. Sid sutter spaling if Perron was tired and you don't want genos line out there. Professional athlete can play a minute straight, tired sid > adams

There is strategy to a season and a game...u just dont place more stress on players then u need to during the regular season. We have bottom 6 forwards for a damn reason. If this was nhl15 ud just turn off line changes and roll out ur top 5 guys every shift...but the real world isnt that way. We have players on this team to play a role. The regular season by and large is an 82 game audition for the playoffs. If players prove to fail in situations one would think you make notes and carry that with u for when then games really matter. Facts r you just cant play ur best guys every single shift of the game.

Then he ices the puck and has to stay out longer, it was Adams, Sill, Sutter, Despres and Scuderi, the 3 worst players on the team and most of the time Sutter is the 4th, just unreal. I don't care how tired they are it's Sids line or Genos line in that situation and only Martin and Letang and when Ehrhoff comes back him and hopefully Pouliot

If u watched the game you would have seen he did just that on the third goal...caused a cluster eff of a situation changing to get geno back out there..lead fairly directly to the goal.

Sure just include your first round pick in this years draft and you got a deal. I'd be willing to give up Clark Seymour and a 5th for a 42 year old rental otherwise.

But there's a serious problem when you can't trust your 3rd line out there then. That's what the job SHOULD be. To play a 2 way game and take important draws

You all need to understand your issues. They are not so much that adams sill sutter etc were on the ice..but that they r on the team to begin with. At the end of the day..thats what the coach has on the bench. They r there to play minutes so ur big boys are not gassed goin into the playoffs. I have watched this team for years..u never see sid or geno out there in final minutes. Ull see them a lil if the pens r up a goal or two....but just looking at sids empty netters he has scored...barely any say compared to ovi. This isnt new for us to see them on the bench at the end of a game.
