I'd make that deal in a heartbeat.

At this point I'd trade Sutter anywhere for a 3/4 line center....

To ARI for Chipchura
To EDM for B Gordon
To TOR for Winnik
To BUF for Hodgeson???? Think BUF has given up on him and would value Sutters experience? Was surprised to see in 51 gp 2 goals and 10 points. Still loaded with talent but talk about a sophomore slump....

- stowerkraut

Don't really need him, but straight up for Hodgson. Have at it. If you intend on him playing a 3/4 roll, good luck. He will bring you disappointment by the truckload.

The first two I would pass, I like Winnik because the return with him would be nice, Hodgeson isn't slumping he just isn't a good player at this point. He will need time to find his game and I'm talking years, not weeks.

Perron will hopefully sign like a 6 year 30 million dollar deal this summer. Comeau will hopefully sign a relatively cheap deal before free agency, but I don't see it. He is getting 3mill on the open market and I wouldn't blame him for a second to take some team for every penny. The guy has worked hard and earned a big pay day.

Although, I think 3 years at 2AAV aint too bad.

Yeah tops I would do is about 2.5-.75. Like you said he can and will get more. Just look at Engelland and Tanner Glass.....

Look at Pouliot with the Rangers last season. He got PAID and he isn't even that good. EDM wanted vet talent who are leaders, Blake kind of fills in that area for teams.

poop just look at David Clarkson. Hopefully Comeau stays for a home town discount. Really does look like he loves it here.

Isn't he basically the same player as Sutter?

That's a lot of minutes for a guy who had been scratched for the past 4 games. Guess he was playing well? I didn't get to see much of the game

Only complaint I have about the way the team played last night was the PP. It would be spectacular if anyone on that top unit would come within spitting distance of the crease. I think I saw someone in the crease for all of 3 seconds combined between the 2 PP chances last night.

Staying as far away from the crease as they have been (nobody inside the dirty areas) allows the PK to crowd them out & stay closer to the puck carrier & in passing/shooting lanes. The Pens need to get back to the simple system they used in the October that spread out the PK & forced them to cover more ground to get on hurry the Pens PP.

2 guys in the crease or below the hash marks between the circles & the other 3 working the perimeter WORKS. We all know it. It's just frustrating when I (not a professional) see something that the pros don't.

He had more hustle than the last 4 or 5 games he played... but I still see him being traded very soon. It doesn't even feel right watching him now

I'm a big Beau guy so I won't be happy about it. Especially if they are selling low.

Agreed. I saw at least twice where he tried to take the body after the puck was already moved and the guy went right, BB went left and didn't get a piece of him. Although he did try that sick dangle.. HB would have exploded if he would've pulled that off and scored.

So.. does anyone believe me that Perron can get 70-80 points in a full season yet?
- znagle

Before his concussion in 2012 he was showing signs of being a point a game player.

I usually think of guys in 20 point ranges and I think when healthy he's a 60-80 guy.

(for comparison I think of sid as a 90-110 guy and malkin 80-100)...

It's funny. I feel the same way. I was hoping something good would happen for BB, but he's on a line with Spaling and Sutturd......how can anything good come with those linemates? I don't understand how that can be overlooked by the coaching staff.

Something else to look at

Perron's shot totals

Pitt 16gp 62 shots
EDM 38gp 74 shots

He's basically doubled his shot production here. Love it. Now only if Sid would start shooting

Considering his 9 in 16... 16*5 = 80 games (hes now a Penguin, lets not assume him 82 games any year), thats a 45 goal pace.

Yeah, I can see 80 points as possible, hes a more complete player than Ovi

- Guile

Ovi from years past yes, Ovi under Trotz?? Trotz has done an outstanding job with that team IMO and with Ovi individually when it comes to the defensive zone. Im not saying hes a Selke winner but hes much improved. I guess i am just hoping you didnt mean you would take Perron over Ovi.

About Comeau, we tend to base future deals a little bit based on what deal they are coming off of. But, with UFA's you can't do that.

If he keeps playing this second half of the season like he was pre-injury, he'd be on like a 29 goal/52 point pace (for 82 games). He will still probably get 20 goals and close to 40 points.

Brandon Dubinsky just got a 6 year $5.85 mil per year extension off a 16 goal/50 point season. Radim Vrbata got a 2 year $5 mil deal as a UFA off a 20 goal/51 point season. Matt Mouslon got a 5 year $5 mil deal as a UFA off a 23 goal/51 point season.

Granted, Comeau has had a few tough years, and he might not want to mess up a good thing, but if he keeps playing well, it's going to take $4+ mil per to keep him around.

In the 3rd period they demoted him to the 4th line and moved Adams up to the 3rd. I think the Pens are going to try to trade him before the deadline. He was benched for how many games and then he comes back and looks just as uninspired. I don't get it.

Well I would take Peron over OVI for one simple reason salary cap.

RW - "Have some realistic expectations..."

I thought all 4 lines drove play last night against the Red Wings. Solid possession throughout, even without Zach Sill, lol.

Good to see another 'underperforming' bottom 6 player receiving the wrath of RW besides Craig Adams.

Bennett struggled.

I didn't get to see much. If I my intention was to trade him I'd prop him up by playing with 87/71 not demote him to the 4th.

Depends... Perron is roughly half the cost of Ovi... Unlimited Cap type scenario, of course I'd take Ovi. But if it was Ovi and a good center vs Perron and Crosby, I'd take Perron and Crosby.

I noticed that too. Doesn't look good for brittle Beau in a Pens uni.
