He did commit that act one time while heavily intoxicated, I agree. Can't deny that it happened once.

And now it is a risk to happen again technically.

Next year Harrington becomes a regular.
- walshy66

I would disagree as I think he may get stuck in the D log jam.

Letang, Scuderi, Despres, Dumoulin (RFA), & Bortuzzo (RFA) will all be on 1-way deals. Add in Maatta (who seems to be an NHL lock) & Pouliot (who will be an NHL lock if he keeps it up) & suddenly you are up to 7 NHL Dmen. This is also assuming the Pens don't add any more veteran Dman like Ehroff or Petry via UFA.

If Harrington makes it, I'd think they'd have to move 2 of the Dmen from the above list as I do think they will add a veteran Dman this offseason. I'd suggest Scuderi (trade or buyout) and Bortuzzo (trade).

As long as it's not Jagr, that money-hungry glory hog who doesn't care about winning.

No chance we get Jagr this year.

I agree with what your saying. I'm just saying I'd like the bottom 6 to be good at something! anything!

Sick of seeing Downie drive the net and take himself out of the play...meanwhile Bennett's out muscled for the puck and Sutter's already swung out of the zone to cover an opposing winger headed up ice.

- stowerkraut

You're right. Our bottom 6 is currently good at nothing. Sutter, Spaling, and Adams PK, but thats about it and I'm still convinced Adams can be replaced and that unit won't skip a beat. The bottom two lines just have no chemistry. We need to bring a guy in and add by subtracting Sutter.

Technically, it could happen again. I don't know if you can conclusively say it's a problem based on one isolated incident (if respect to Dupuis, it's a chronic issue that he's had before), but it's possible. Probably about as likely as Evgeni Malkin instigating a fight at the end of a game and not getting the mandatory 1-game suspension.

I also once did a shot of Tabasco sauce, but I don't think it's a risk that I'll do it again.

He has enough for his grandchildren. What's the difference between 3 and 1 million when you've made over 120 million on contracts alone?
- znagle

It makes no difference to you, but it obviously does to him. He's gone to the highest bidder ever chance he's had.

And he has everything he's wanted out of hockey except money. I've no idea how much he's spent but he may want to leave some.some.behind for family.

I didn't think Jagr was married. And does he have any kids? I have no idea.

You joke, but he came to Pitt. at age 19 & is now 43. For all we know he knocked up half the city during the 1990-91 & 1991-92 Cup runs.

If he knocked someone up at age 19, they'd be ~24 now. Way too old for college.

Bennett showed promise at the start of the year but since his last injury he hasn't looked the same. Maybe he still not 100% up to speed from the injury or maybe it's just a mental thing. ..it's either move him now and give him a fresh start or ride it out and hope it gets better but I'm not sure it will

He probably did. But I'd think he has enough $$ to hire some dudes dressed up as cops on the down low as opposed to doing it to an authority figure.

Nope ... kid deserves every amount of criticism he gets. I can't cheer for turds like him. Kid is a pampered spoiled brat that thinks he deserves better and has to act like an ass to get dealt out of town.

Nope your attitude is why people don't change.

He has his issues, but taking the 'holier than thou' attitude doesn't help him, or the team that has him.

Sell Bennett. His role is questionable; he cannot be planned around. His ability to be in the line up is too mercurial to plan around, either. He's due for a new contract and essentially BB hasn't gotten past the point of exploring whether he has chemistry with anyone on the Penguins' roster. I don't think that warrants a bridge deal. BB is a guy who would be better served developing in the minors for a while.

100% agree with this.

I can't believe the trade proposals I am seeing for Vermette, he isn't an upgrade over Sutter. He isn't faster, he isn't gritty, he is always injured.

Look at what worked last night.
- Hard forecheck
- Hard to the net
- Hard along the boards

Vermette, Tlusty, Bergenheim do not bring this. They are finesse players who are useful play makers if you don't have a Crosby or a Malkin. We have both a Crosby and a Malkin.

It sounds like everyone wants to replace soft players like Sutter and Bennett, which I'm completely for. But then we're looking to replace them with the exact same thing and we expect something different.

We need bigger, heavier players or players who play bigger like Hornqvist. Not more butterflies like Bennett.

Good point. Jagr can, at max, only have kids that are almost eligible to rent a car. No college for the grand Jags just yet; they need more time to work on their mullets.
