It's hard to say who won or lost the first trade... If Kane is paired with mcdavid or eichel, he could potential exceed his potential.

Saying they lost the second trade is just proving you don't know what you are talking about. Enroth is set to be an UFA. Enroth wont sign in Buffalo in the off season and Buffalo clearly arent desperate to have him right now for a shot at the cup. The basically got a free 3rd round pick.

which is possibly a 2nd, plus another goalie they could trade for a 4th-5th

How so? We gave up prospects that may or may not pan out for young, established players. We have so many prospects in the pipeline we can afford to part with some. It's a really nice problem to have.

Ditto...and we're actually winning a few games...

This is the thing people don't get. They dealt a very good young Dman (their deepest position) for a power forward (one of the rarest commodities in the league) and a very good young dman (not as good as Myers IMO). From everyone I've talked to here, the only thing they didn't want to give up was Lemieux who seems to be a gritty 2 way guy like Peca or something. That says a lot about where they are at.

Let there be no ifs and or buts,..... The leafs did nothing today. Also they suck.
What's your point. Buff lost both trades how is that related to the leafs sucking?

Point is we are making our team better in the long run. Never mentioned the state of your team. Just asked what they might do.

weird how sabres fans yesterday say myers was pronger 2.0, and today he is awful at defending and gets knocked off the puck easily.

personally i like the sabres side more, BUT if the jets can develop armia properly (something that would have never happened in buffalo), and they use the cap space after letting stafford walk (assuming he is a bust like he was in buffalo), then they can potentially come away as the winners here.

at the end of the day, they got rid of a big distraction in kane, and upgrade bogosian to myers, and got armia and a late 1st. plus they send kane to arguably the only city as bad as winnipeg to live in, so they must feel pretty happy about that too.

If they are smart, they deal Kessel for a package similar to what Kane got though they might have to eat a bad contract or some of the contract to maximize the return. If they do yet another full rebuild, I don't understand how people could continue to cheer for them.

Well you lost two of your best prospects on the wing. I do like Bogosian though but you guys were real high on armia and lemeiux before this trade though that has instantly dimished fir some reason? They were both untouchables in a lot of Sabre fans eyes and a lot of Sabre fans were thinking you could have traded just Myers and gotten that return. I dont think you guys got fleaced but its a little bit of a puzzling trade for a rebuilding team imo.

The buff-a-loser Sabres made a big move. The leafs will make trades

I just think buff lost the trades.

When the leafs get a used bag of puck for Dion, you can tell me t.o. Won the trade.

Agreed. Although I think a few of the Sabres fans bought into that perception of Myers' value and were a little bit disappointed with the reality check they received today. Serves em right for being such homers.

Personally I don't mind the trade from either teams perspective. But I also wasn't on the delusional-about-Myers-value bandwagon.

And for people saying the Sabres should be penalized for tanking so hard...? Last season they were basically the worst team in recent history. This year they are worse. Now after the deadline they are even worse... Who the (frank) cares? They are the worst team by a mile, it doesn't make a difference 'how hard' they tank.

When did the leafs do a full rebuild?

They tried a partial rebuild under BB? That was not a full rebuild.

We have to suffer but at least there seems to be a plan. Not a 40yr one either.
