Also, teams that won't make the playoffs trade UFAs (stafford) all the time and prospects have no bearing on tanking or not so you're pretty much looking at Myers for Bogo and Enroth (UFA) for Lindback if you want to look at the impact on this year's team.

Well, that's your opinion. Lot of MSM have said the Sabres not only got the best player (Kane), but the best two players given how close Myers and ZB are in the eyes of GMs and talent evaluators.

That's funny, because I love the trade we did with the jets. Myers sucks, armia(since day one I've been saying ) is a bust, a rental in staff, and a late first, and we walk away with the two best players in the trade. The only part I don't like is parting with lemiuex.

As for enroth, he is a UFA who they wouldn't be brining back, and who is gonna give more than a 3rd for him?

I mean im not flipping out, and im not saying they should have to cough up draft picks for penalty, but the over all trade seems poopty and sorta blatent tanking, i just hate the idea of tanking all together. its lousy

How so? We gave up prospects that may or may not pan out for young, established players. We have so many prospects in the pipeline we can afford to part with some. It's a really nice problem to have.

weird how sabres fans yesterday say myers was pronger 2.0, and today he is awful at defending and gets knocked off the puck easily.

personally i like the sabres side more, BUT if the jets can develop armia properly (something that would have never happened in buffalo), and they use the cap space after letting stafford walk (assuming he is a bust like he was in buffalo), then they can potentially come away as the winners here.

at the end of the day, they got rid of a big distraction in kane, and upgrade bogosian to myers, and got armia and a late 1st. plus they send kane to arguably the only city as bad as winnipeg to live in, so they must feel pretty happy about that too.

It's hard to say who won or lost the first trade... If Kane is paired with mcdavid or eichel, he could potential exceed his potential.

Saying they lost the second trade is just proving you don't know what you are talking about. Enroth is set to be an UFA. Enroth wont sign in Buffalo in the off season and Buffalo clearly arent desperate to have him right now for a shot at the cup. The basically got a free 3rd round pick.

fair enough though I don't really see the overall impact of these trades as a negative for the sabres. If Kane were healthy and still playing, they are a better team right now and the enroth trade is just a UFA dump.
