When was the last time a guy entering his prime as a top 10 scorer for the past 5 or so years was available?
Somehow people think the past 6 weeks, when it is clear the entire team isa train wreck is a horrible indictment against Kessel.
Yeah, GMs everywhere are licking their chops right about now. - Aetherial
entering his prime? usually scorers peak and begin a slow tail off at 27. We paid for his prime. He has a few years most left at these numbers. |

Think Rielly is the only untouchable.
I'd keep Polak too. His leadership and Give a poop meter seems high. Could be a guy to stick up for young teammates. But I wont be upset if he's tradedd |

Good, when you are being paid 8 million, you should give a poop every game. |

True.... and hey there might be a team out there that still believes in his potential....
Considering how little value Del Zotto had last year.... I don't expect Gardiner's to be much higher... - Scabeh
Here's the one thing that always scares me about trading Gardiner away:
He has an unbelievable ability to skate the puck into the opposition end on the pp.
That's a pretty valuable skill to have.
It's the one and ONLY thing that scares me about trading him away. |

@Hope_Smoke: Jackson "I think the fanbase may want this but I don't think they have the patience to be committed to it. The fans will have a hard time"
Don't buy that for a second.
Fans have been asking for it.
They've been bad for years and no one stopped going. - burn

The fans are the ones who can handel a rebuild
Then farrrr away second is the media.
thrid is management
Management is not patient enough.
To say its the fans who wont be patient hasnt been paying attention. |

Oh yeah there are a few guys (like Polak) that you want to keep. They aren't untouchable, but you still have to ice a team next year and a character guy like Polak is good to keep.

Good skating ability, decent first pass and hope that he improves.
Personally I only see an unproductive, unreliable offensive defenseman who's hope of improving to justify his contract are getting smaller every year.
But that's just me, I've been wrong before. - Scabeh
I don't see the skating...guys blow right by him all the time...when he does win the race to the puck, he's feet stop moving and they just take it from him.
He's one of those guys who looks left and passes right ( thinks he's tricky ) it probably worked in College against kids - NHL guys lick their lips when he's on the ice. |
