It's not black and white. The options aren't limited to make the playoffs or tank. And even if they were, what is the point of tanking in the last month of the season? To move up a couple of spots in the draft? He could always fight for the playoffs until the bitter end and then try to trade up at the draft. Or he could take any number of other possible paths.

Everybody keeps commenting on who won this trade. IMO Chevy won this trade. He showed that you don't need to have a problem hanging around the locker room or settle for scraps if you have a problem. He sold Kane's pedigree and Bogo's potential for cap dump, solid future and a towering d that can go toe to toe with most of the western conference teams.

If Gllis was in Chevys place, Kane would still be a jet by TDL next year and Buff would have gotten traded for scraps.
