Casino's I'd bet. Buying tickets to give away to loyal or "High rolling" customers. - vancity787
That would be my bet. Vegas presents a unique situation for the NHL because of the casino landscape. Given that there is no pro sports team in Las Vegas I can easily see the interest. That said, free tickets to guests doesn't ensure a full capacity crowd in the stands on a nightly basis. I'd envision a lot of empty seats that have been paid for. |

The way he has been playing, i wouldn't be opposed to hammer for a 1st rounder. We can lose just fine in the playoffs without him. |

Cox couldn't point Vancouver out on a map and thinks that a Canuck is something that you use on a seal hunt. I wouldn't put to much stock into what he says. |

As long as they've been paid for....... Not too sure the NHL would give shyt.
Coyotes, panthers, devils attendance are horrid and they DONT sell their seats.
If the building is empty and every seat is sold. Bettman is high fiving the Vegas owner. |

The Hamhuis thing seemed like more of a suggestion than a rumor.....

You're always good for stoking conversation Vantel. Don't stop now.
Re the rumors, Bozak could be a decent 2C for us at a cap hit of $4.2m. That would likely spell the end of Bonino. But even though TO might not be thrilled with Bozak's services as a 1C, I doubt they just hand him away and I wouldn't be willing to move more than vets for him.
Trading Hamhuis would net a solid return (more than just a 1st at the TDL) but would also hurt this team in an area we don't have much depth in. This really depends on the long term Benning takes and what his success criteria is for this season. |

I agree but it also paints a really dull picture for the franchise. That said, if they simply move Phoenix or Florida to Vegas, it's an upgrade without a doubt. If the create a brand new team for Vegas over a Hamilton, QC, or Seattle location I think it's a downgrade. A sold out building of $40 seats looks good on paper but doesn't translate to rich revenue. |

I think you're right in that Chicago, Los Angeles and San Jose have all taken a step back this year.
LA just looks worn out from playing so much hockey over the past three years, Chicago is still a great team but as you mentioned last night, looks to be getting a bit long in the tooth regarding their top six. Hossa is 36, Sharp is 33 & Richards is 34.
Anaheim and St Louis are the teams to beat in the West I think?? - LeftCoaster
STL is a team to beat. If that D stays healthy this could be the year.
I like a STL/MTL final. Do not be shocked if the Habs are the one team able to buck Gary's system and finally bring the cup back to Canada. If Price can stay healthy that is. |

I am cheering for MTL for sure this year even though i'm not a fan. Best chance Canada has. It also doesn't hurt that my dad is a fan of them since he grew up in MTL before moving to Van. |

That comment/sentiment seems to be voiced every year. I still think Chicago is the best team in the NHL and will show that in the playoffs. LA also has a solid track record of looking decidedly mediocre over 82 games but then switching to champ mode in the playoffs. |
