Just a few games ago, Team 1040 (TSN 1040? -- who cares) was reporting the Canucks had the same number of points at this point last season.... yet tonight they got their 30th win, 15 games faster than they did last year.

That's a real mind bender if that's true.

I wonder if Daniel gets more pumped when playing in Chicago. He seems to always have a good game against them.

Chicago let you play the game and attempt to simply outplay their opponents as opposed to trying to completely neutralize the opposition (like LA, STL, SJ, etc) and then attempt to jam through a couple goals and shut up like a clam (still thinking of LA).

The Sedins generally do well against teams that allow them to play.

I think Chicago is ripe for a letdown this year. I am only basing that of their home record and their record against Winnipeg.... which is laughably bad.

If the game gets into a track meet the sedins are nowhere. Watching last night, I really liked the look of Horvat Hansen and Kenins. Kenins pressured all over the ice, Hansen picked up the scraps and Horvat made the play for them.

Though it wouldn't happen, I would love to see the Canucks somehow knock Anaheim out of the playoffs. Shove it in RK's face.

It is fun to see him messing with the media, first not celebrating enough and then over celebrating.

I believe that separating Vrbata from the Sedins forces Daniel to become the sniper that he should be. Vrbata is doing well on his own. Higgins has 6 points in the last 9 games... Hard to scratch him right now.

Good post.
Don't discount burrows here. The second need a dog to play fetch with. They throw the puck in the corner on the dump in and burrows goes and gets it. He knows them so well too. The 3 of them feed off each other.

You can't see it in the replay, but it's Burrows who gets the puck to Daniel for the 4-2 goal. Much more amazing, how does H. Sedin beat the defender for the breakaway. Stride for stride too

I think one or the other would do it. No need to get crazy for MDC. Oh wait too late.

I think this year more than any ,if you just make the playoffs ,you have a shot to win. With half the league tanking anyone can beat anyone. I don't see any clear cut powerhouses in the league.

A middle of the road team can go along way seeing I don't see LA as a clear cut wrecking machine.

If LA misses the playoffs it helps our chances A LOT. IMO we could have a competitive series with any but the Cali teams. And as for the eastern conference I think we match up poorly against TB DET NYI and maybe MTL. Making a run even with this team is not impossible, just shouldn't expect it to happen

I think you're right in that Chicago, Los Angeles and San Jose have all taken a step back this year.

LA just looks worn out from playing so much hockey over the past three years, Chicago is still a great team but as you mentioned last night, looks to be getting a bit long in the tooth regarding their top six. Hossa is 36, Sharp is 33 & Richards is 34.

Anaheim and St Louis are the teams to beat in the West I think??
