I think BUF could have held out and paid a bit less but they have so many prospects/picks that I can see why they just wanted to get er done. I think both teams have a very promising future.
- Nucker101

That's possible. Might have lost Kane to another team though, as more teams fall out of the playoff race. Chevy could have waited til the offseason to make a deal, I guess basically they get Stafford as a rental to help them make the playoffs.

Do they flip the 1st rounder for more help??

How is this a win for the Jets? Unless they are planning on winning the cup this year and now they have players in place of the injured Kane.

The team that gets the best player typically ends up 'winning' the trade in the long run. In this case Buffalo got the 2 best players in the deal.

As much as I liked Bogo he made very questionable moves at times and seemed to lack overall hockey sense. Has the tools but... Also off ice rumours made it best to move him. Kane again has lots of tools but again lacks hockey creativity and of course has off ice issues.

Both are injury plagued.

I think you are going to see a spike in Myers production now. Bogo was producing the same as Myers surrounded by Buff, Trouba, and Enstrom. Now Myers gets to play with those guys. He is now probably in the ideal position for himself. Being a really strong number 3 on a team.

Maybe, or the wussy 6'8" 230 lb wussy will get his ass handed to him daily.
I wish him well though, but he has zero balls, unless facing a 5'8" perimeter player...then he looks great.
Expect to spend more time in your Dzone when he is on the ice.

Looking at it from a Sabres fan I'd say that both teams did well.

The Sabres received more help in the immediate future while the Jets could be thanking Tim Murray in a few years. Armia is almost ready to step into the NHL while Lemieux is a ways off.

Drew Stafford is a streaky player who definitely needed a change of scenery. Myers is the type of player that will drive you nuts. One game he is killing it and then he'll have some stinkers thrown in there. I will say that he has been better this year and eats a lot of minutes on a nightly basis. I'm most concerned with how he looks in the future because d-man take longer to develop. I still think he has more room to grow (unlike many Sabres' fans).

I think it's a win-win trade.

Sabres get the top line power F that has underlying stats comparable to Patrick Kane (Taxi driver assaulter, known public party guy), Anze Kopitar and Rick Nash (See Matthew Coller on twitter for stat proof).
Solid 2nd pairing dman with comparable stats as Myers. (Outside chance they flip him by the draft, just a hunch)

Jets get motivated F-Stafford who can easily play 2nd line minutes and produce scoring. Agile, Big, helluva reach dman in Myers with reasonable cap hit and even better actual paid salary.

Armia was a big loss imo, love the kids possession skills and hands. I think he projects as top 6 F as soon as next season.

Lemieux was redundant in our system, Compher is every bit as good as him especially when slotted as 3rd liner.

Late 1st? Who knows there.

Besides, BUffalo could afford to overpay as some say, we are completely stocked with prospects with McEichel on the horizon.

Maurice coached in the KHL and know how Russians work. I would take Burmistrov back with open arms. I would love to see how he plays with Frolik on his wing

Congratulations on totally fleecing us. you will all love Myers. he is incredibly underrated. Armia will make you all forget about Kane. Lemieux is a nice prospect who is going to be a pain to play against, and he can score. Stafford is a good player who you will all like. A first in a deep draft? Wow.

But man, losing Myers hurts so much. I wouldnt have traded him for BoGo and Kane straight up. I will now be rooting for you guys in the playoffs. IMO, it's a great day for the Jets.

Im so sick of people saying this is a DEEP draft. It IS NOT A DEEP draft. There are a solid 5-10 players, with the first 3 players being generational to franchise level players. People are posting this is the deepest draft since 03, which is just flat out wrong, the deepest draft since 03, was 2013, and this draft is not nearly as deep as 13.

I think it is an above average draft in terms of depth, nowhere near 2013 though.

Agreed. Deeper than last year, but nowhere near 13, and especially not as deep as 03.

I'm sick of people saying a draft that hasn't happened yet isn't NEARLY as deep as a draft that is too recent to properly be judged.

Burmi - still Jets property, wants to play NHL - we can either bring him back under Maurice or use as trade bait

Bogo - rumours were the guy was in rehab not injured ... unsubstantiated - I don't think anyone knows this to be fact ... the rumours came out when we had all our d-men out and also included Trouba in rehab ... once again - unsubstantiated but shot through town like wildfire
