im not going to get into a debate as to whether couturier is better than brayden schenn...

BUT

if we are even attempting evander kane (and im on the fence on even taking him on), couturier has a place on this team- he plays a role in a key position. i loved schenn early on but im not sure if i can keep holding on...

and i'll be damned if we get stuck with the lesser of two schenns...

so if we DO go after kane...or ANYBODY....i'm ready to give up the schenns in a package deal to start for kane or OEL or almost anyone. id rather give up the schenns than coburn and read...at this point a defensman like coburn is worth more than a "not-natural" winger like schenn and they are close in terms of worth. luke and read wash each other out...

laughton coming in makes this all very interesting...im not saying give up on youth, im just saying consider giving up on schenn...as a VERY good source has said to me (who works for the flyers), if putting the schenns on the same team was going to spark either one of them, it would have happened with the flyers. since it really hasn't, we should push that selling point on another team before they figure it out.

i could see read and coburn OR the 2 schenns going to the jets...although i was hoping to land buff and not a guy like kane....

it sucks they don't get along...i woulda loved to see kane and buff on a team in philly with simmonds and emery...we would be the darkest team in the league

Laughtons played the whole season at center, Schenns played the whole season as a winger. They aren't going to get flipped now.
- Feanor

Nor should they be flipped.

If Hextall can dump a couple of the more overpriced guys, the turnaround could be a quicker one.

It could depend on how firm a stance he'll have on the ones he "could" move

Glad the boys are playing well, I never enjoy watching them lose.

Still don't think they make the playoffs, but so be it. And, if they continue playing well and end up picking 10, 11 or 12, so be that too. The only thing that would bother me is if they failed to make a deal or 2 at the deadline to acquire additional picks.

Let's hope Coburn can get back this week and look good. We can get a first for him.
Grossman should fetch a 3rd
L Schenn.... Have no clue anyone. I see him being a part of a package with his baby bro.
Kimmo.. iF he come back may want to go to Preds... Maybe gets us a 3rd
Streit.. Is the interesting one. I love the guy, but if someone offers a first. I take it, the replace him in UFA

Franson and Sekera also have a rumored 1st rounder attached to them.........Not sure they'd get it or even Coburn.........I'd take 2 2nd rounders

If I can't get a 1st for Coburn, I'd keep him. I still think he can be an effective top pair guy with the right partner

Hey, I will take that but I feel Coburn has more value than those guys because he has another year left at a reasonable price on his deal

He could, I have no idea, just tossing what the prices are & if they want to move him they still can

Agree, Hextall should walk away with at least an additional 1st a 2nd and maybe a 3rd from this TDL.
We may even fall a couple spots back with the loss of players we have traded which ultimately could place them in the lottery

I think you might be disappointed by what happens at the deadline.

Why? Don't you think Hextall will move anybody that would bring back " value"

I don't think he has the right kind of players to move for that value.

I still think that it'll be easier to make moves at the draft, rather than the deadline. By the draft, teams will have more cap room and they'll have a have a firm cap number.

Even guys like Coburn and Streit might not have enough value to deal at the TDL, because of the cap uncertainty.

I guess we will see what Hextall's plan is moving forward. IMO Coburn could fetch a first especially because he has a year left. Grossman could get a 3rd...who knows what else is on the table. His priority should be to gain draft picks. I am sure he realizes this team is not going to playoffs

Too bad ...thought they had it. They sat back too much near the end. Emery was solid all night but one bad rebound in OT and that was all she wrote!

I find it absolutely hilarious that all 3 stars were Habs and zero mention of Ray who was the 1st star of the game IMO. I said it yesterday, I think that every home game that the Flyers play, the 3 stars should be all Flyers.. it's absolutely ridiculous and subjective, so why not just do what other teams do. I don't care if we lose 8-0 and are outshot 50 to 5..

That would be fine with me, as long as we have more picks going into the draft than we currently do
