Seguins nothing special. 40 goals 80 points, pfffft anybody can do that right?

He is perfect for you guys since you never see the playoffs anyways.

I hear ya. I think some of those intangible will grow as he continues to mature as a player. Dallas would love to have him play C full time but he isn't there yet. Give it a year or two. As an Oilers fan Im always more interested in what may happen in 3 years VS whats happening now.

All we heard was seguin was more complete than phil. He may be, but he ain't complete. Saw him play several times in junior. He literally is kessel at centre, albeit more heart (a bit) but how hard is that? Not saying it's impossible to add that to his game..but usually that stuff is engrained. We are getting off topic...point is i wouldn't trade hamilton for kessel/eberle etc. Scoring wingers vs #1 D man to me is a non starter.

Watched alot of Dougie this year and in the playoffs. Kid's for real and it sucks as a leaf fan when i see him. I dont' get the same feeling when i watch seguin as to me he's a great fantasy guy but not a guy you can build around per say.

Boston - Eberle, pits 1st

Edm - Dougie , subban, bostons 1st

- HughJasscok

I wouldn't even consider Dougie straight up for Ebs, let alone add in a top prospect and downgrade in pick.

Its true... but if we were an Eastern conference team... that dream of playoffs sure would change rather quickly

I agree with this. Eberle will not play in all three zones and put in the work. Julien will hate this kid. Which means the Segunistas will love him.
- glove_was_stuck

wingers are the last thing you need when building...hence....ya, the leafs built around kessel first

He is special. But i'd take alot of centres over him. He never sees a second of PK, faceoffs are improving...not physical....

Kessel also gets these numbers.

I'd take a kopitar, bergeron, getzlaf, toews, Datsyuk (in prime), etc 2 way centre all day. Not sexy, but they win. Seguin/kessel will win a hockey pool for you though.

Faceoffs and PK time are fairly irrelevant.

Seguins potential and Hamiltons is another conversation I wont wade into.
More subjective I think.

Phil has scoring talent but seems to have regressed as a human. Seguin may yet mature further beyond what Phil has been able to do. The change of atmosphere may actually help long term.
Also he takes some FO.
Im not Dallas or Seguin booster, just think you cant ignore how he has catapaulted over the last couple of seasons.

Well, given your history of giving away good players for less than market value, I thougt maybe I could take advantage of you like a college girl on spring break vacation.

Faceoffs have little to no correlation to possession and penalty killing is not a skill.

my buddy is actually good buddies with him. I've partied with him a few times, and everything you heard in boston is true. Not here to rip him, if i made 6 mil and won the cup i'd be dead by now. But he ain't maturing in that sense.

He may not eat m&ms for breakfast and crush wendy's, but he's not committed 100%. His faceoffs are improved no doubt this year.

i think we are on completely different wavelengths here and there's nothing wrong with that.

I simply said he is 'one dimensional'. Not that he sucks

I just never seems to really pan out. Looks at the Caps. They should have at least made the East Final a couple times already.

Considering Edmonton's history of turning good young players into laughing stock teams, I'm not sure it matters what Lowe & Co do.

Name the last team to win anything with a winger as it's best player

faceoffs have no correlation to possession? That's rich.

If you want to say over the course of a season, the difference between 49% and 51% has no significant impact on possession, than I can at least think that is plausible.

Winning a faceoff is directly correlated to possession. Can't be argued.
