What's your address so I can send you your award?

Why do you need to make that comment? I am giving real I formation unlike the 4,560,405,405,400 zillion trade rumors that arel rated on here. This is legitimate. And one team has already agreed

Listen you dont have to believe me,but I know one thing. This trade is the most credible and close to reality deal mentioned this year. You can compliment me tomorrow or by the end of the week
- Buffalo39

I don't.

And if it doesn't happen will you also come back and admit you're a fraud and misrepresenting yourself?
I also wouldn't mind a compliment at my use of logic to poke holes in your statements.

Deal?

Your effed with or without elberle. Shultz is wanting a raise in the summer and yak will want a big raise along with half the team, and needing a goalie and for what to play golf in april ? Elberle, hall and rnh get a pass for the first few years but soon to be veterans without playing a playoff game but hey mcdavid might bring you up to 25 th spot. Get rid of your management and get some defence

His contract is league average its no bad.
- jake24242

I didnt say it was bad...I said he didnt have many suitors. Do the math
1)Subtract all the Teams that dont have the cap space
2) Subtract all the teams that probably have no interest
3) Subtract the teams that can't part with the asking price

Who's left?

Boston tried to build around cha cha Chara, but the opponents kept going around him instead...

Edmonton is a train wreck and although they have some key parts, I don't buy their defence has hope and their goaltending is frightening. Schultz is not a NHL defenceman and plays like a pick up team rover and is soft in his own end. Nurse is a quality d-man, Eberle, Hall and RNH are the real thing up front but the Oilers are reputed to have a very weak system with very little help in the minors. That team is going nowhere fast.

To be fair he's made some good calls in the past. Not saying the deal will happen or anything but our boards have a few members who seem to be kinda in the know.

I suggest you do some research...about half of what you said is false.
You are correct on our goaltending, Schultz has been playing much better the last 20 games, anurse, Klef, Marincin are the real, and our prospect depth in the AHL is (finally) in very good shape.

Having said all that, the Oilers are 2-3 years away still from being good.

Its not a bad deal....
Kane= Myers
Bogo> Stafford
1st > Arniel and Lemeiux
.....I suppose the 2nd is a bit much but not the end of the world

Yeah it was.....but things fell waaaay off, obviously. This was before we could admit that some of our prospects would be busts, like Omark, Hartikainen, Yak, etc, before our #1 D-man suffered a career ender, and when we thought we had a goalie....it happens

You lost me here. Armia and Lemieux are definitely worth more than a middle 1st rounder.

I'm sure you do. But who knows what might happen if we deal away picks for real NHL players.....a goalie, a D-man, maybe a center...could make a big difference.

Believe what you want but other than some no brainer first rounders, the drafting in the later rounds has been awful. The current roster isn't deep and your 2 to 3 year promise is old news that quite frankly is getting stale. The Oilers lack real leadership and need to get Messier type leader in the dressing room to keep the players accountable.

No one asked you to buy anything.

Schultz is certainly an nhl defender, but needs to sheltered 5v5 and given plum pp time. Like many other offensive dmen.
He's not the game changer we hoped, but he's improving and certainly has quality offensive instincts.

How do u mean weak system? Like our prospect pool? That's far better than it once was. Our d prospects are actually very stromg imo. Klefbom and marincin are hugely encouraging. And theres nurse. Forwards not so much, but they're mostly with the big club save a few decent ones.
Or u mean the system in place in game? I like nelson strategy. We're competitive every night.

the team has serious deficiencies, but of those defenders can develop to go with the guys you think are the real deal, and some improved depth we have, I think this team might be going somewhere slowly

yeah? who might that be. And our drafting has improved in the last 4 years, just give them time....1998-2009 however..

when was the last time they dealt for a player that would be a top 6 forward, top 4 d-man or starting goalie on a good team?

Mactavish always talks about making a splash, but they usually just make a whimper

Which 2-3 year promise?

The later round drafting before the new regime was awful, but since the teardown, those picks are far from busts. The book is still open on marincin, klefbom, Pitlick, yakimov etc etc. Isn't that the whole point of later rounds? Patience

Armia has high offensive upside and in his mock draft French compared Lemieux to Wayne Simmonds (had him going in the 1st round). He's done really well in the OHL this year and could be a solid one for us in a few years.
