Dallas Stars will issue a statement following up on Seguin and Benn's radio comments on the Sedins earlier this week.

- stashu

Those two came off like a couple of half wits with that one.

Since the Sabres don't play till Sunday I would think if a trade goes down it would have to be today or tomorrow. Not sure on the Jets sked though.

also enough time for a coaching change

The Sabres have beat the Habs twice but have only been able to muster 10 shots on goal in 2 games this year!!

10 shots!!!

That's up for debate. It wasn't long ago that it ws rumored that Hall could be traded. Then it was mentioned that he asked to be moved, which really is the only reason I could imagine they would move him in the first place.

Either way, we're one of the few teams that have the assets to give up without messing up the current team.

- HonkFortheGoose

Hall is in the Myers situation. He is not ready to be moved but they will listen to offers. I would assume a Hall deal would include players who no sabres fan wants to part with for the most part. 55,23,51for example

I think it's only assumed as such because they're offering up their pick for player(s). Getting rid of Hall only contradicts that.

Absolutely and it has. Good time to acquire him but those risks are very real. I'd do it if I were the Sabres just not for the Islanders for where we are right now.
- Cptmjl

People said the same thing about the other Kane and Seguin... they both are doing pretty good now. Sometimes it takes a come to jesus moment... or a new locker room.

I believe they play again before then. The makeup Rangers game is this weekend.

EDIT: Nevermind. I think that's next Friday.

if murray overpays, and the team does not get a top 2 pick at the draft it's a big time rookie gm mistake
- homiedclown

What makes you think we are not getting top 2? Just curious. We are the worst team in the league by far.

I am not really that sold on Grigorenko nor Armia... neither can produce for long periods of time int eh AHL and neither can seem to stay healthy... they both are 1 sided as well.

I'd trade either to get a tough and gritty two way player like Kane who is a legit top line scoring winger to play along side a franchise guy like we should get in the draft.

I would agree with this - I'd also want Hall over Kane. But those guys aren't available and thus I don't see why we are talking about it. Also, even if they were we would have to give up significantly more to get them.
- Slump Buster

Because one guy isn't available doesn't mean overpaying for a player a notch below is the wise decision and right move to make.

if the sabres finish 29th, they are assured nothing

they are 4 points behind the oilers, not 14

do you really want to assume a behind the door "lottery" is going to make sure we get a top 2 pick if we finish 29th?

1) I don't get why we are talking about Hall.

2) I don't think trading Armia and Lemieux is overpayment at all. Five years from now it might be, or five years from now Winipeg could wish that they got proven players back.

Very true. I was just talking about Patrick kane on our thread yesterday and how some posters on there would be unwilling to take a chance on Patrick kane because he was a huge partier when all that stuff was circulating . I wouldn't even have thought twice about it. There's a world of difference between the two Kanes though. Different players. Patrick may have the best pair of hands I've seen in my life. Even when he was partying it up and the circumastances seem to be a little more severe with Evander as far as the rift with the actual team

The recent trend of the lottery winner says they have better odds at getting #1 overall if they finish in 29th.

that's a trade I would consider

gringo, armia, staff and a second for kane and their first

I agree - people are getting way too comfortable. Almost 30 games left - that is a lot.

Further to @TSNBobMcKenzie, Jets and Sabres in trade discussions involving Evander Kane. Deal is not done, but heating up.

I'd do that. That #1 might be high as there is a good chance they miss the playoffs
