This is the truth.... When that kind of tweet is sent... with SPECIFIC names... that means the whole (frank)ing forest is burning.

Girgensons deserves better than the 3rd line right now... He is proving it.

If they took that deal I would be ecstatic but I think they would need more... one of our D prospects probably too.

- JVince11

G will prolly be playing one of the top center spots next year but I am saying for the way future if they keep him at center that is most likely where he would be perfect for

timing of this move makes no sense

if your going to overpay and give up a few of your blue chip prospects, and a first for a fringe first line player, shouldn't you already secure one of the top 2 picks in the 2015 draft before you make this move?

the sabres are a 48 hour streak of hot goaltending play away from being assured nothing other then the third overall pick

I would take Hall over Kane all day long and never said I wouldnt. I was simply stressing the point that Kane is proven in the league and def needs a change of scenary
- Beezer33

Oooo. Sorry, misunderstood. Yeah Kane obviously needs a change of scenery but it seems to be of his own doing. I was once in the group that wanted the Isles to make a play for him but have given up on that notion. Between his injuries and pretty much his entire team pushing him out the door it's not worth the risk IMO though he's capable of proving everyone wrong. Good player.

That may be true, but in the grand scheme of things you'll get more production (likely) out of Reinhart than Girgensons

What guys aren't available? We all know Kane is available and Hall though injured very well may be available for all anyone knows?
- Cptmjl

This is the clear difference...

both players are injured right now...

Except we KNOW Kane is on the table... we don't know that Hall is. Last I heard out of EDM is that htey want to trade their top 5 draft pick for a proven player... not deal one of their best guys.

E. Kane-McEichel-Ennis
Moulson-Reinhart-Grigorenko
Foligno-Girgensons-Larsson
McCormick/Kaleta-Schaller-Gionta

This is what I would like to see next year. Obviously for developmental reasons we will not but it gives you a potential projected lineup. Now remember we also would have: Fasching, Compher, Baptiste, Lemieux, Bailey, Hurley and this years draft picks already in system as well. I am hoping when Gionta's contract is up is around time we should be making a good run with a new young core all set

My Kane deal was: Kane for STL/NYI 1st, Stewart or Stafford, Armia

We have so many prospects it is hard to be mad if we give up him for someone already proven in the league and better most likely

- Beezer33

way too early to assume we are getting him, let alone the other guy at the draft

Let's say, for hits and shiggles, 3 years from now we've got McDavid at 1C and Reinhart at 2C. Likely two very potent scoring lines. Who's to say we can't pull an '07 and have a third reliable scoring line with Girgensons next to Grigorenko and Bailey/Baptiste/Lemieux/Whatever?

if murray overpays, and the team does not get a top 2 pick at the draft it's a big time rookie gm mistake

Hall not available, Kane is.

Again Kane with McEichel is a dam good top line.

Kane-McEichel-Moulson top line?

Talk about wingers Crosby dreams of having.

- ImThatGuy

That's up for debate. It wasn't long ago that it ws rumored that Hall could be traded. Then it was mentioned that he asked to be moved, which really is the only reason I could imagine they would move him in the first place.

Either way, we're one of the few teams that have the assets to give up without messing up the current team.

You are taking away a fringe top line player for the Sabres one of the few we have then it pretty much sums up picking 1st or 2nd.

Sure, in theory anyone is available. Hall would cost at least twice what Kane costs.
- Slump Buster

Absolutely but like Kane I'm sure he's available for the right price which is what I was replying too. Well it looks like you guys are going after Kane. Too much smoke coming from this. I like Bogosian. Always wanted him. Another player that a change of scenery would probably do a lot for.

Simple eye test, looking at numbers, and seeing how Murray will be managing this team puts me in the 110% sure category we will end up in bottom team. Hell even if we arent we could always win the lotto. Even is EDM starts sucking you need to remember that a good chunk of our team will be gone come deadline day

I agree with you on production hands down.. but when you have a guy of Girgensons magnitude... he might be listed as 3C but his ice time better be higher than that... you want him on the ice a lot more.

He should be our top PKer

Absolutely and it has. Good time to acquire him but those risks are very real. I'd do it if I were the Sabres just not for the Islanders for where we are right now.

Since the Sabres don't play till Sunday I would think if a trade goes down it would have to be today or tomorrow. Not sure on the Jets sked though.
