They say the top 3 or 4 guys in this draft would have gone #1 overall over anyone in the past few years.

McEichel are in the Crosby/Ovechkin class of prospects.

Thing is I think people are forgetting how old those two are and IMO McEichel are the new guard for the future of the NHL. Those two are that good.

Tobad we haven't had one with 1/2 their balls on this team in forever.

True which is why I'd never trade a top prospect at a position for any goalie who isn't a top 10 goalie in the NHL right now.
- bluengold12

Unfortunately, as it has been said many times, you have to give to get. I know Fucale is a highly-touted prospect, but we shall see what happens. I don't think we will get a goalie prospect in any deals this year. Just my feeling.

I've heard this about McDavid but haven't heard much about Eichel. Haven't gone digging much but all I've seen with little research is that he is suppose to be very good top line player but didn't see generational talent listed.

You can get any above average bum goalie on your team if you all ready have a solid set of players. Look at Halak on the Isles.

If Eichel were Canadian you would have.

Eichel wanted to play in the OHL to go toe to toe with McDavid this year but his rights were owned be an QMJHL team so he opted for college. He is a one and done college player IMO.

I agree. Which is why its tough for me to get behind not knowing his full potential because he's playing against college kids. I have incredibly high expectations for either player we draft. I expect them to be the best player drafted in the last 5 years.

Or longer. Vanek was a good pick but not what I would consider great.

For football reference if McDavid isn't the next Peyton or Eichel the next Luck I'll be pissed. Getting the next Cam or Flacco isn't enough for me.

He is playing against men where McDavid is playing against boys.

Hope that helps.

Do you think eichel is just as good as mcdavid?

I had an interesting debate with my brother today about who would win if BU played Erie. I dont believe Erie wins a majority, but would not get embarassed.

The debate stemmed from him believing what eichel is doing this season in college being much more impressive than what mcdavid did at 15 coming into the OHL.

I am really starting to hate the way the CHL is run in general. Between kids not having their choice of what league they play in and the transfer rule, I'm really not a fan.

True. Well Seguin was 2010 I consider him a top 15-20 player in the league. Taveres was 2009 He's very good but I'd demand either McEichel to be better than him. 08 was Stamkos who is probably the last generational player drafted.

Many people will look at their output in the World Juniors. I think the BU team would be able to hold back the firepower of Erie. I think it would be more of a close battle and an offensive onslaught.

It's interesting that you keep mentioning Seguin, but not Hall, since Hall was actually drafted before Seguin.

If they are brought up the right way, I think they will be that successful. I wouldn't throw them to the wolves. Let them learn the game in a sheltered line for half a season or so, just to make sure they understand how much faster it is. It's the same argument for Reinhart. He knew the plays to make, but was a step behind the game physically and possibly mentally.

Seguin has had significantly more success, but it's on a team level. I haven't compared their individual stats.

Been saying that for years.

The CHL is about the organization and the places they play in. No fvcks given to the kids and whats best for their development.

Yea, i think its much closer than anyone would even want to admit. Mcdavid likely goes first overall, but i would think a GM would at least have to give it a good thought.

I hear this a lot but just because someone is 22 doesn't make him a better hockey player than an 18 year old in the OHL. More players from the CHL make it to the NHL than the NCAA.
