Unless Brent Gretzky all of a sudden scored a ton more points and games, your math needs work.

Well assuming the Jets use Kane as help for their playoff push like you said what exactly does this trade

Foligno+Larsson+STl/NYI 1st to WPG for Kane

do for them right now? Switching out prospects or picks will do nothing for them this season as you know.

- Cptmjl

Foligno is an NHL player. He can replace some of the power forward play they are missing with Kane out.

Stafford to NSH for Fiala.

Stewart to Bos for Spooner and Caron

Foligno+Larsson+STl/NYI 1st to WPG for Kane

STL/NYI 1st + (A) prospect for Skinner

- ImThatGuy

I'd love that Stafford deal but Poile can't bite this time around like the Gaustad trade.

Stewart for Spooner seems to be the rumor du jour out of the hub so you're pretty bang on this one.

Not sure on the Kane deal if that gets it done, probably not. If Murray wants Kane bad as it has been reported, he'll have to get awful creative to get EV. He'll have company but he could swing a deal at the deadline. If the Jets covet Grigorenko or Armia, do that along with the Isles 1st and another piece. Turn that Isles first into gold!

I'll pass on Skinner.

And I was vocal for a few years about getting Berglund but have to admit that feeling now is luke warm at best.

I'd think they'd be looking for a little more if the objective is getting help now for this season. Even if it was a move for the future I'd expect more in a better NHL roster player.
- Cptmjl

That'd be the point where if you're tim murray you walk away and look elsewhere.

Unless you have your centers already in place.
- dadeadhead

Agreed. But I still want a veteran center with few years term remaining (< 3 year) or a UFA we can sign to short term, or one that can play wing in couple years. Cant go with all young kids down the middle. Intriguing names: Berglund, Vermette, O'Reilly, Hanzal.

It does give them an extra 1st to use towards another rental.
- dadeadhead

That is true but Foligno isn't going to do it I don't think. I'd think they'd want Stewart for immediate help. If the offers are like that(which they very well may be)I'd think they would wait till the draft and get a good return on him.

He looked good the other night when we played you guys i just don't think he'd be a difference in a trade for Kane.

I think he's going to be a player that blossoms later in his career.... Or he'll be a piece of poop... IDK.

There was a time that I'd have agreed.

That time has come and gone.

Because hes behind the depth chart of Backes, Stastny and Lethera?

Hes having a down year (partly due to role and linemates), STL needs to shed salary, it would be a perfect opportunity to buy low on a 26 year old veteran two way center who has 2 years remaining on a generous contract... Like I said, we need to fill the gap of at least 2 years before we start handing the reigns over to McEichel and Reinhart.

Give him some PP minutes back like he had early in his career, and some better linemates... it would definitely be an upgrade over Mitchell.

I would do this, but I would think the pick holds more value than Ennis and since we are giving them 3 roster players, I would think they would need to send a couple guys back. Maybe we add a pick (2 or 3rd rounder) to complete the deal. (then maybe flip those players, depending on who they are)

Like You said:

Line 1: ??? - McEichel - Moulson
Line 2: Foligno - Reinhart - Ennis
Line 3: Deslauries- Girgensons - ???
Line 4: ??? - McCormick - ???

Where do these players fit:
Armia
Gringo
Gionta
Hodgson
Flynnn
Schaller
Larsson

He may he looks like he has that late bloomer potential. He's strong on the puck.

Foligno + Stafford + 1st?

Two NHL players and a 1st. They get now and future?

Might get a better offer from someone else. There will be plenty of teams calling we'll probably have to overpay to get him.

I'm not worried about this team becoming Edmonton East.

A) They have a ton of bottom 6 depth, Edmonton didn't/doesn't.

B) They have depth on the back end, Edmonton didn't/doesn't.
