why do you even want him tbh. You can draft your own players.

Moulson, Gorges, Gionta.

Those are far from leaders that can mold Kane. You need a Toews a Joe Thorton. You need your best players to be that leader not players on your lower lines. AKA Mcdavid in 4 years.

you realize Stewart has 17 points in the last 23 games

on the worst team the NHL has seen in the last decade

- homiedclown

You do realize he had 5 points in his 1st 29 games.

What you are seeing is what led 2 other franchises to move him.

Wingers are the last thing you need to spend on. Untill you are a playoff team you dont need to trade for them.

Can't see a playoff team trading for him since he'll be out because of his injury and as for the non-playoff teams....how many of them can afford to give up 3 "young" assets for a young asset (a very good one) who already is labeled a "problem". I think best bet is they will hold on to him until next year where he's healthy and all 29 teams can "bid" for his services and hopefully by then his image/additude will improve also.

Wow, really, so what does that mean??? He's now a high-end trade chip??? stop, please.....

Sabres would be lucky even getting a 3rd pick for him, LUCKY....

I disagree based on the fact buffalo doesn't have any established leaders that can put kane in his place he would come there and have the same issues that he has on the jets. But maybe thats just me.

They aren't being forced to do anything and they will get the asking price for Kane, hurt or not. You won't get Kane trying to give that bum Stafford or Stewart.
- SABRES 89

Just asking..... U don't think his injuries & character issues hurt his trade value???

just keep in mind, NOT 1 trade has been made where it seemed equal value in recent years....

IMO Boston moves someone else in order to make room for Smith, Hamilton, and Krug.
- dadeadhead

I think it's Smith or Eriksson that gets moved

I'm ok with either

Foligno and the 1st I don't mind. Not crazy about losing Armia or Grigorenko though.

However, I don't think there is another prospect in the system that is both one I'm willing to lose and that the Jets would want enough to make the trade.

If that's what takes, pull the trigger on Armia. I would still rather keep Grigorenko around for two reasons.

One, he has done what has been asked of him. Two, as a center he gives the Sabres more flexibility down the road.

- The Don

i'm with ya, don...and we'll see what happens...I guess I would choose Grigorenko over armia simply because of numbers...with reinhart projected as a #2, and the possibility of landing mceichel, Grigorenko drops to third line center and i'm not so sure he's that type of player

I mean you like him cause he has talent and young right? Well the jets arnt deep on the wing and look like a playoff team why would they even consider moving him? Cause he has issues they cant handle and im sorry to say buffalo isn't a team that would be any different from the jets. The jets wanting to move him should be a GIANT red flag.

You don't build a team around wingers that is correct.

You build around Reinhart and McEichel (which more than likely they will have 2 of 3). They have they additional assets to make a play for a guy like E Kane and not disrupt the rebuild in the least. IMO you will see both late 1st rd picks be moved for wingers.

nice read (reed/reid)

IMO Kane is a second line player who's only consistency is to under-perform

for that asking price, I'd rather throw a tad more out there and get a bonafide first line player

- homiedclown

idk, homie...kane has first-line tools...question is, where, if anywhere, will that resurface

After the Burmistrov exit in Winnipeg, wonder if the Jets would want Grigorenko based on that. The KHL fear since they already chased one Russian off bc mistreating them.

Scoring E Kane too would be a huge win. It could be like this:

-If Murray can get 1/2nd overall in 2015
-Got 2nd in 2014
-Miller trade (not bad for a goalie, only one better I can think of was Schneider, but he is younger and had contract left)
-E Kane (I would be giving up Folingo / Stewart / Stafford / STL 1st rounder + another higher prospect)
-Trade Myers for another Top 6 forward (future forward)
-Potentially trading a few picks for starting player next season (maybe top 6)
-Couple free agent signings (he will have his pick with the cap being in question)

What a team this could be!

Moulson Ennis Kane
Stewart / Armia Grigensons Grigorenko
Larsson / Gionta Reinhart McEichel
Deslauriers McCormick Flynn / Hodgson

Ristolainen Zadorov
Gorges Pysyk
McCabe Rehwedel

Future Players
*Future Player / Fashing / Bailey / Baptiste / Lemiuex / Carrier / Compher / 2015 Draft Picks / Schaller / B Austin

*resigning Stewart, if wanted on roster (could pay more than anyone)*

Not great, but a great start. Not to mention the others, which are in a deep 2015 draft. Team will be studly in a few years.
