How do we feel about Armia? I can see him being the prospect WPG wants more than a Grigorenko and Larsson etc...

He is 3 years younger than Kane but Kane is a proven scorer. Armia is not in the NHL level yet. Armia could be a perfect match to bring up with Grigs but also Kane would jump our rebuild quicker.

Ennis needs to stay as he is only Sabre who can produce at all. Stewart's value is low.

If I were the GM I would be trying to peddle Myers to Anaheim for Vatanen, Richie and a 1st

then E. Kane for Stafford, Armia and a 1st

then Stewart to Boston for Ryan Spooner and a pick

Neuvirth to anyone so we can bring up Hackett

- Beezer33

Myers deal: we're never getting vatanen back, he's already an important part of their team.

Kane deal: I would do it, I don't know that they'd want a pending ufa but who knows.

Stewart deal: I actually imagine that being the actual deal come deadline day which i'd be okay with

Neuvirth deal: I'm okay with keeping either one, trade whichever gets you the "better deal"

Yeah, well, Myers is an important part of our team!!!
You have to give up something to get something.

Why would Carolina "sell low" on him though?
- adambuffalo

Injury problems, production is at an all time low. He looks like he could use a change of scenery. It will still cost something when i say buy low i mean relative to what he could be worth. But I think if they want to compete as soon as next year these are the kind of boom/bust moves they'll have to entertain. Free agent market is thin and there aren't really any "sure fire" players available for trade as of right now. As i've stated before though I would try for E kane first.

You are not getting Vaatanen, Ritchie and a 1st from Anaheim.

Yeah, I know!!
But, that does not mean we have to send Myers for bunch of garbage either.

That wasn't my point. They're competing this year, there isn't much incentive for them to give up players who are already contributing for them at the NHL level. This by the way is ultimately why i think a deal won't get done (at least with anaheim).

If Murray is indeed looking for NHL players in return, I find it hard to believe Anaheim, or any other playoff team, would be willing to give up roster players. I don't even buy into the rumour that fowler would come back the other way.

In the case of Beezer's proposed deal, not only are they giving up a roster player (a young one with a high ceiling) but their top prospect and a 1st? That'd be an easy no for them.

It's not a good fit for Anaheim to acquire Myers
Idk why people keep pushing him there

Anaheim is a cup contender. Why would they trade ANY vital pieces of their team to acquire anther strength??
If anything they'll be trading their 2015 1st and a mid level prospect for a rental.

I'll tell you this right now, if Myers goes to Buffalo somehow, you are NOT getting Vatanen, Fowler, Lindholm, Beauchemin, Andersen, or the Big 3.
You might get a guy like Emerson Etem, 2015 1st, and like Ritchie for Myers.

Agreed

Theodore, Sorenson, 2016 1st I imagine would be their best offer and Im not even sure Anaheim would go that high.

Pretty much
Anaheim shouldn't trade any pieces off their main roster, well at least main ones. Color me shocked if they do
That's about what I'd expect as well.

When was the last time a Stanley Cup winning team traded vital pieces of their team away at/near the deadline?
Kings 14- Nope
Hawks 13- Nope
Kings 12- Nope
Bruins 11- Nope
Hawks 10- Nope

Just say "no" to Etem.

Kid does not want to play in Buffalo, and if the reason is really because there's "nothing" to do, then Buffalo doesn't want him either.

The fans would eat him alive.

I agree with you, though. I can't see Anaheim dealing any of their top three D, unless they've secretly soured on any of them, and none of us knows that information.

And a trade of D men is spinning your wheels, for both teams, imo.

(shrug) so what? If a GM doesn't like the makeup of his team I would credit him for trying to make it over. The cup teams are usually all set before then so I guess it is a chicken-and-egg question.

Hopefully if Myers is dealt its to LA and all this Anaheim talk is to drive up the price. I would like toffoli for myers. If we can get Kane some how I would prefer to keep myers. I think our team would be very promising on def and off with the additions of Kane, mceichel, reinhart, armia etc...

Yes it is. They have mismatched pairings right now.

Myers would slide right next to Lindholm on their top pair.

Vatanen/Beauchimin would be the top 4
