The Flyers at least have generally been an enjoyable team to watch over the past 20 years. Aside from the 2001 season and the surprise run (due to injuries to the other team's star player) a few years ago, the Sixers have been a train wreck over that same span.

Exactly. Thats why Hinkie is trying a different approach to building rather than stockpiling average players, paying them a ton and having a .500 team that loses in the first round.

I never back-read.

I heard Timonen is thinking about playing again this season. He might even start skating soon!

It's easy to tank and get top picks!

P.S. That Andrew Bynum trade was fantastic.

Not Hinkie. Dumbass Doug Collins made that move. Hinkie inherited a mess.

Also, I said multiple first round picks. It takes creativity and proper management to continually win every trade. He traded Thad Young for a pick that will be between 10-18. The Wolves would only get a late 2nd rounder if they tried to move Thad Young right now.

Interesting that the Jets head coach is announcing injuries to a Black Hawks player.

I know it really doesn't mean much in the long run but has anyone else gotten even a little fed up with Giroux in the shootout this year? Yes up until this year he has been good but he is now 1-8 and was completely embarrassed by Halak last night. I don't know who was more embarrassing, Giroux getting poke-checked or(I believe it was Nelson) who completely whiffed on his chance. Maybe he should take a page out of Simmonds play-book and just skate in and score instead of trying to go for style points.

If and when Timmonen is game ready, who gets the bench? Luke Schenn gets my vote.

It will be interesting to see what they do, barring further injury

Might gain some real insight into Hextall's thinking

PATRICK KANE OUT 4-6 MOS FOR SHOULDER SURGERY

Coach Maurice announces Kane needs surgery on his shoulder. The usual timeline for recovery is 4-6 months.

So they'll trade someone just to fit Kimmo for around 10 games?

Ideally... they would trade Grossmann for (hopefully) a second this year.

Get Kimmo in and trade him for a decent package. Even though he is a true rental, you should still be able to score a pretty damn good package for him from a contender.

Also would look to move another guy... Schenn or MacDonald.

Put them all out there. Like a garage sale. Buy one get one. Buy 2 get the 3rd free. Etc

Surprised that this hasn't been discussed, but who would have to sit if Kimmo comes back?

I'm fed up, I'd trade him, obviously has lost it.

I know they wont, and instead they'll choose to sit someone who has been doing well (Del Zotto or Shultz) to bring in Timonen, expecting him to be the Timonen of 2 years ago, and lead them to a cup.

What they SHOULD do, is not play him until they are finally statistically eliminated from playoffs.. Then play him, and let him retire with his skates on.

Playoffs aside.. I just don't see him helping them at this point. He's been sitting for how long, he's almost 40 years old, and even though he's medically cleared it would be tough to see him go out on another injury...

This means so much coming from someone who stills thinks this team is a playoff caliber team.

Or trade him. Then sign him to a one day deal and have him wear his skates at the press conference.
