A better trade for both clubs might be B Schenn for Kane. Basically, our center-LW for a straight up LW. I think given Kane's issues and contract, they'd have to give up a little more. It would n't be Morrisey or Ehlers, but maybe another prospect.

But for them, when Ehlers comes up next year they have a Center for him, or could play Schenn on the wing. For us, Kane is a more physical version of Schenn that still has potential.

The fact that Buff couldn't get Kane in line worries me though. Not sure I'd do it at this point.

The Flyers wouldn't be able to make that trade during the season without other roster players, or a separate trade happening.

I think that's a deal I would make.....Might have to be other parts because of salary...but with Flyers depth at center.....I do it .

I'd rather get an Eberle or an Oshie type. This team needs secondary scoring. I don't think Kane puts up pretty numbers with anyone besides G.

If everyone is so worried about getting a big bodied LW for Line 1 we should be looking to draft Crouse and hold onto our assets.

I liked White in the middle a lot more.....line didn't seem to have much cohesion.

Laughton is just rough out there. Looks like a rookie

The 4th line was the only good line and seemed to play hard every shift.
I would find a way to give Simmonds more ice than Read. That guy is lost.

I'm with you on Read. Im just not sure how to juggle things to fit it better until Raffl returns

Good point. Add building on JSaq's last post, B Schenn + Vinnie for Kane and maybe a conditional pick. Vinnie is actually coming on, and they could slot him in at 2nd line center and keep Schenn at the wing.

I wouldn't, and I don't care if the Flyers had 10 centers.

According to what's been reported, Kane and Byfuglien have not gotten along for a few years. I'd be interested in a B.Schenn for Kane deal, but the Flyers would probably need to wait-and I doubt it's enough. 29 teams will be sniffing, and that will drive the price up

Kids been great...doesn't change the fact that line didn't have a great game. Laughton is a center and thats where he belongs....I just thought White looked better in the middle, then he did on the wing.

I wouldn't trade a pick for him, I'm looking at it as a chance to shift assets and get one that might be a better fit.

Personally, I'd rather have Ehlers over Kane. I think putting him on the 2nd line would create a much more dynamic line to balance the 1st line. I'd give up Couts for Ehlers. I know, there is risk because he's not proven. I'd still take the risk. I'm sure a few of you will balk, but here's the thing...I don't think the Jets would even consider it.

Laughton just returned from an injury, so he's rusty, and getting your feet wet after a concussion can be a bit dicey.

He's looked like this prior to his injury. He belongs in the nhl, he's just having a rough go navigating through nhl dmen

Agreed Coots and Giroux are a great 1-2 punch. Coots may not end up being a 25 goal scorer. However, he is already one of the best defensive centers in the league. I would like the Flyers to get a more skilled 3rd line center to play with Simmonds.

Kane would be a great get for the Flyers. However, Couturier is too high of a price to pay to get him. Skilled wingers are a luxury. Good centers are a necessity.

Yeah , I just don't see the need for Kane. You're talking about icing one of the most expensive lines in hockey once Jake gets his raise. Theyre already an insanely hot line with almost whoever you plug in at LW. I'd draft Crouse and focus on getting Coots & Simmonds a high skill LW to play with.

I struggle to see how Rinaldo can make the team again with how well VdV and White have played, and with Raffl hopefully on the mend.

Yeah, I'm not knocking them, they had a bad game and I'm not sure that White is comfortable as a winger. Laughton had his first game back, and they struggled a bit.

Also need Voracek & Giroux to emerge from this little mini-slump. I'm a bit concerned about how the pieces fit together up front, as well. I wonder if the streakiness is due to the way the pieces fit up front. Just seems there's a lot of guys that are stuck on wings that could be more effective at center.

Trade his ass out West.

Crouse might be better suited to that than running with Giroux & Voracek. He's a good two way guy, and would be a nice presence with Couturier in a good two way 2nd line.

What do you think of Barzal? Seems like we'll be picking in the 10-12 range, so all the guys that usually get discussed here will be gone. I'd like him as a more offensive 2nd line center.

I'd rather have Ratanen as playmaking winger on a future Couturier line.

With Kimmo and Coburn coming back within the next couple weeks should Hextall try to make a couple deals involving Dman before the TDL? I just think it would be harder to trade popcorn eaters. Get em out of town before they are shipped up to press box
Manning is capable of finishing out season with this team.
