It took Saskatchewan DECADES to reach the point we're at today, and while sure, we don't have a bunch of the fancy government funded toys that a lot of the other provinces have, we're stable financially and steadily growing.

no... Leafs need to cleanse the roster - that's different.

Detroit needs or at least want's to make a trade to add a right handed defenseman. Now the dilemna is that too add such a player they will have to spend - either a decent prospect and a pick .... to add a Mike Green or a Cody Franson...

but there's the rub... no one, not the Leafs, nor the Capitals are going to give those guys away ....

so pony up or miss out.

and no - the Leafs don't want soft-ass Jakub Kindl back in trade... and I'm guessing neither do the Capitals.

I agree for the FA trades - for guys like Winnik, Santorelli and Franson - yes absolutely.

For the necessary culture changing, "MLSE management gets it and will change the core trades" those can and should happen ASAP.
