Seriously? You put mayo on an Italian hoagie?

That's it, I'm calling SETI, we obviously have an alien living in our midst and he is a Flyers fan.

Seriously. Mayo and oil.

Dude, if a cheese steak is kinda iffy I'll throw ketchup on that bastard. Ketchup and cheese whiz can cover a poop load of deficiencies.

- mayorofangrytown

I think they create more problems than they are able to hide. That said, taste is subjective. I think mayo is the most vile substance ever created by man.

Wet cake? Pass. Again, unless it is tres leches. I could eat fifty pounds of that a day.

So can feces, but I'm no fan of putting feces on a steak.

It actually depends on the icing. If its that overly sweet, waxy crap, then no thanks. If its that light, fluffy kind, then yes please.

What makes you think they are going to be any better? This team is the very definition of mediocre and has been for the last 3 years. The will be missing the playoffs 2 out of 3 years, having just made it last year.

- psuhockey

They can make some player moves during the off season. Players who have had poor seasons such as Read, Coburn, and Umberger can rebound. Young players such as Schenn, Couturier, Raffl, can all take the next step and improve. Players such as Mason can avoid injuries and be available all season.

According to McKenzie nobody is trading for players with term due the cap possibly not going up much next year. So nobody wants the Flyers overpriced players and probably won't still this summer at least until free agency frenzy is over and people strike out. If that's the case the Flyers will the have space and nobody to sign.

If you don't trade Del Zotto or Schultz, there will be no spots open for rookie defensemen. The Flyers are not going to bench Coburn, Schenn or Grossmann since they will more than likely want to trade them at next years deadline. There won't be a market for players who don't play. So Ghost and Morin will probably at Lehigh for the start of the season.

- psuhockey

Del Zotto and Schultz are not the only defenseman that can be traded. Defenseman are still at a premium, and the Flyers should be able to make a move or two in the off season.

So without cap space to sign players and no room for rookie defensemen, where will the change be to get them out of being mediocre next season?

- psuhockey

Lots of ways to create cap space. Trades, buyouts, etc.

I would not be looking to trade him. I'd make any trade of any player if I thought it improved the team.

Mayo is absolutely delicious. It's like eating death, but it's pretty good on certain things.

Do you think that Nick Schultz was signed with the expectation of being a regular in the lineup and playing 20 minutes or so a game? Del Zotto was in the midst of playing his way off of two different teams, and was unemployed in August. The Flyers have gotten very lucky.
- MJL

Where are the flyers in the standings again? I couldve swore I woke up this morning and saw that they were 10 pts out of the final spot. We are so damn lucky

You eat eggs and put oil on your hoagie but if someone swishes them together you're out?

Regarding next season I'm not as optimistic as some here. They put themselves in one hell of a cap bind and imho it's going to take a few years to recover.
