Yeah, but Richards is on the books for the next like 5-6 years? at 5 million per. Scuds contract is up way before that. Richards is a turd that makes twice the amount for much much longer than our 3c turd. Richards is ass.

You honestly think Jagr is going to help us? He wouldn't be top 6 on our team. Bottom 6 and he would cry like a baby and bolt in the offseason. In other words we would waste assets on something we have no use for.

Relax. It's typical of the poster you were responding to for not making much sense. Richards has sucked for the last two years. He is on the books for 5.75 of something like that for the next six. We have over 34% of the cap invested in three players and now you want to add 5.75 million on top of that for a poopty player. He has the worst contract in NHL right now. People can't seem to figure it out. Scud's contract isn't good, but at least he is playing like a competent hockey player.

Jagr doesn't help. Time for people to seriously get their hockey IQ in check. Trading a decent asset or assets for a 42 year old pending UFA is foolish. He doesn't help. These are the types of foolish trades our GMs of year's past have orchestrated and now look at our organization's problem ... a lack of depth at forward. Instead of trading good assets for foolish acquisitions that don't yield anything, keep them and build some depth.

You do realize the whole point of sending richards down wasn't for someone to claim him but instead it was for cap relief. Plus noone is going to claim him bc teams are going to want to get rid of someone in order to pick him up... it's all about numbers... ie scuds amd his contract for richards and his contract... plus he would be a better 3c than sutter..

And as for jagr.. you're not a true pittsburgher if you don't want him back... I bet he would help out our struggling pp and give the pens the option of running 2 equally strong pp lines... where it doesn't matter which line is out they are going to score

I was just going to say the same thing. Your getting back a more established player who is the same age.

I don't like losing Beau and Kunitz in the same deal but I could live with it

Any interest in Tangradi? Could be the next great NHL power forward.

Kane for Geno now.

Love Kunitz but we need to get younger. Kane is the right replacement.

Bartley vs Sutter is a Hell in a Cell match. Winner gets 3rd line center on the Penguins roster

I really thought there was a 5% chance of Kane being traded, and a .0000001% chance of him coming to the Pens. But that was a really good article...I've changed my mind, I think it could happen, but still unlikely.

It depends on two things :
1. Do the Jets want to go "all-in" this season (aka...do they value Kunitz's leadership/production and igrnore the long term benefits of Kane vs Kunitz)

2. Can the Penguins afford to swap 2 roster players for 1 ? Sounds silly but with the depth issues and another high salaried player coming in, I could see that being a real problem. I almost think another move would have to be made for bottom 6 help.

Adding Kane would give the Penguins 5 above the line top 6 forwards, all of which are signed through at least next year, and all under 30.
