While I don't hate Sutter NEARLY as much as Bartley, I would agree that this team needs a different look at 3rd line center. Sutter is a good hockey player, don't get me wrong...he's just not what this team needs at that position

Don't rattle my cage, have you done what I asked about watching Sutter on iso-cam for one game?

I hear Sutter is getting a 5 year extension with the Penguins today.

Let's not get too carried away, it is Edmonton after all. the effort was there.

Yeah really! A wins a win but the poor habits showed up in the third when the Pens should have been burying the game. Calgary will be a better test.

Their goalie was standing on his head and making a bunch of great saves too... We were really molesting the crease and getting 3rd, 4th, even a 5th chance on some efforts.

Hell no on Richards and Jagr. Any team could have had Richards for free and every team passed. Jagr is a 43 year old, slow player who will bolt for more money in the offseason. Also will cost more due to being a divisional rival. Sutter for Tlusty leaves a hole at 3c.

Richards wouldn't be a problem if he wasn't owed 5 mil for like the next 20 years. If that deal was expiring LA wouldn't want to trade him.

You do realize the whole point of sending richards down wasn't for someone to claim him but instead it was for cap relief. Plus noone is going to claim him bc teams are going to want to get rid of someone in order to pick him up... it's all about numbers... ie scuds amd his contract for richards and his contract... plus he would be a better 3c than sutter..

And as for jagr.. you're not a true pittsburgher if you don't want him back... I bet he would help out our struggling pp and give the pens the option of running 2 equally strong pp lines... where it doesn't matter which line is out they are going to score

I'd do that, except Harrington instead of Dumoulin... as it stands now from this season, Harrington is leagues behind Dum and Pouliot. And I don't like banking on him improving after ANOTHER year in the AHL to take Martin's place.

Just make it for next season...

Do people ever do any research regarding how bad Mike Richards' contract is? If you did and watched him play over the last two years, you wouldn't suggest trading Scuderi for Richards. It's truly an embarrassing idea to bring up for a Pens fan. Why the hell would Pittsburgh need a 42-year old pending UFA. He doesn't solve the problem. Rentals don't solve anything. The infatuation people have acquiring Jagr is mind boggling to no end. Almost totally ridiculous.

People say Sutter sucks. So why would Carolina do Sutter for Tlusty and have to add a third?

If we are shipping out Bennett for another young forward I'm fine with it

I'd do that in a heartbeat even though Kane's attitude problems worry me. The Pens don't need Jagr. I don't think it's a good fit.

It "should" make sense to both sides.

Kunitz for E Kane should be a wash points wise this season and pretty close next season as they both stand right now.

Then they add Bennett, who (if they did this deal) would assume to improve and make into a top 6 forward with better usage than he got here.

And a Young Dman... everyone likes more young Dmen.

I don't like moving Bennett or Kunitz, but that deal makes sense for the Pens. I'm a big Kunitz fan, but getting younger in the top 6 is a good thing, and taking Crosby out of his comfort level (both Kunitz and Dupuis out), might be a good thing.

According to Hockey's Future, one of the strengths for the Jets prospects a is "Lots of size on forward and defense". Maybe we could get some mid level bigger forward out of them as well? Our forwards in Wilkes-Barre all seem so small.

Yeah, but Richards is on the books for the next like 5-6 years? at 5 million per. Scuds contract is up way before that. Richards is a turd that makes twice the amount for much much longer than our 3c turd. Richards is ass.

You honestly think Jagr is going to help us? He wouldn't be top 6 on our team. Bottom 6 and he would cry like a baby and bolt in the offseason. In other words we would waste assets on something we have no use for.

Any interest in Tangradi? Could be the next great NHL power forward.
