There is just no way to get Evander Kane or Winnipeg's 1st round pick, and especially not both.

0-3 in Game 7s at CEC. The Pens need Ottawa to make the playoffs more.

My best guess is Beau and Gary Agnew's daughter did more than shake hands when they met.

I hear ya, our top 6 guys need to be on the ice not in the box, but when someone cheap shots tanger or sid or geno, and they arent scared of lappy or downie, they will probably know kane is coming for em...

No one should be afraid of Downie... hes freaking tiny.

You know who is afraid of Downie, Rinaldo. He behaved so well last game out of fear.

This silly vigilante stuff is going to bite the Penguins in the ass. The team is already unpredictable enough. I'm looking forward to the expiring contract of both Eager and Lapierre.

You guys realize Downie is the only reason this team even has a pulse right now?

The NHL is what it is, Downie and players like him are essential to survival; we have found that out the past 5 years in a row.

Still think tlusty and jagr are the best forwards to get...

E.kane is a long shot.. but if they are sending bennett packing for e.kane then it might work out if they think kap and sund make the team next yr. But it still leaves wbs depleted and they already gave up their 1st...

Any chance martin can grab a 1st? That would leave

Letang despres
Ehrhoff pouliot
Scuds borts/ dumo/ harrington

For playoffs... idk I'm confused on who the team wants and why...

Big difference between being a deterrent and responding in kind. Deterrents dont work, but having a guy capable of handling himself when things get rough would be a welcomed sight. Especially if that individual can also play hockey, which Kane clearly can.

Ehrhoff going down and not making this trip leaves the possibility of trading Martin even further out of the realm of possibility.

Agreed. Lately it seems like anytime somebody brings up a guy that can handle himself as a piece the Pens should acquire the resounding response is "didnt stop xyz penguins from getting run by xyz goon". I dont even see people claiming it is a deterrent anymore so I dont see what point they are making. The flipside of that is players like Simmonds have real value in the playoffs. He is a problem in front of our net every single time we play Philly and when things get chippy he handles himself. Kane can be exactly that player for us. Will he stop Marc Staal from checking Sid's head, no. Will he be a pain in front of the other team's net, and beat the crap out of somebody if necessary so we dont get bullied for a whole 7 game series, yes.

We're going to see how good the Rangers are if this Lundqvist injury is serious...

Your post wasnt regarding the likelihood of it happening, it was about the ability to act as a deterrent.
Just because I want it to happen and think he would be a very valuable piece, doesnt mean that it being a long shot at best is lost on me.

Hit in the throat with a puck four nights ago. Is going to miss tonight's expected start; AHL guy recalled to back up. I expect them to tread water and hold onto their spot.

Wonder why goalie neck guards arent mandatory when visors for skaters now are.

There is no way I would play net without the neck guard. Not just for shots but for chaotic scrambles along the ice and because ladies love bling.
