Read the arguments. Can’t get on board with sitting Vis for Strait, no matter how bad Vis might have been. Guy’s coming back from an injury…let him get a few games in before making him a healthy scratch. Not to mention…it’s Brian Strait! I mean, yeah, his last couple of games haven’t been abject disasters, but that means you play him over a seasoned vet that brings a much more desirable skill set? Seems to me that would be like Kulemin having a bad couple of games and you decide to sit him for Conacher. I don’t know, folks on the other side of the argument seem to suggest it’s “logic” to play Strait over Vis. Just…read that over and let it sink in.

What do you want him to say? Viz has been brutal and that's why Strait is in - Vukota
No, the truth. That they are playing the Flyers, they are showcasing Strait, and expect to obtain a second round pick from the Flyers for his services. The Flyers will, in turn, sign a Strait to a 5 year/25 million extension.

Love Lee, but (and it may just be against our d) this guy Hayes is that big, tough immovable object; a throwback. Lee probably will turn into that. Lee's good but not THAT immovable just YET.
Like Butchie says, he hasn't "grown into his man-body". |

so if you're going to trade reinhart for kane and let boychuk walk, who are you replacing him with next year? and visnovsky? look at the free agent market, he will get at least 6 from someone.
and no, I still don't want evander kane, I wouldn't trade reinhart and the rest it would take. - Isles_since_6
I don't think Reinhardt is going to be that good.. sorry. I do think Pullock will be THAT good. That is why I never mentioned him in any trade. |

Counter-argument to that:
- After sliding three games in a row, we don't have time to let Viz "get a few games". We need to win tonight. Pens overtook us (although we have a game in hand) and the Rangers are hot on our heels.
- Strait played significantly better than Visnovsky during his stint while Lubo was sidelined. Nobody is saying he is a better player, but only describing Strait's play as not having been "abject disasters" is unfairly undermining his play. He played well and did what he had to.
- Unfair comparison of Strait-for-Lubo and Conacher-for-Kulemin. Conacher wasn't here playing well in the absence of Kulemin. THAT would be a terrible move. |

No, we should trade MDC, Reinhart, and Pulock for him. Maybe throw in Mayfield and Pelech to sweeten the deal - eichiefs9

Im with you on this but I could at least see his thought process. Normally there is no rhyme or reason to anything he does. Why do I have the feeling this line up is going to make us all want to vomit? |

EK claims there is a prominent player looking to get traded ala St Louis last year. I wonder if it could be JT? |

I'm not saying he was playing Norris-caliber hockey, but he played better than Visnovsky has in the last couple. I'm not jumping for joy at the idea of Strait playing, but I also don't think it's one of those Cappy head-scratchers either.
If Halak doesn't pick it up and we can't clear the puck with any discernable structure then it isn't going to matter if Shea Weber was our 6th defenseman. |

Like I said I dont agree with it but I can at least understand why hes doing it. Though if our fwd lines are the same as last game or look even more ridiculous I wont understand the thought process. |
