So what the deal with Kyle? Is he really only out 4-6 or the entire season? |

Totally agree, that's why I believe Grabner will get dealt now or off-season, maybe Bailey, and wouldn't shock me if Frans gets dealt in off-season too, especially if the shoot-out is no longer next year........ - Ur Not Me
They're not doing away with the shootout, I don't know where that came from.
I doubt Nielsen is going to get moved, not this offseason anyway. I could see Grabner being moved. I don't know about Bailey, I certainly wouldn't be adverse to it but I don't know if there is going to be any takers for that contract. It's cap friendly but it still has a lot of term left.
Regardless, I don't want Kane eating up the cap space we need to re-sign Boychuk, et al. I double-don't-want him if it costs us cap-friendly ELC's for top prospects. |

even if i wanted to watch the (not so)jumbrotron, i wouldnt be able to, bc it sucks in the coliseum.
to answer your question, no i dont watch it regardless of if its big/small non-hd/HD; however, i DO watch it during replays, you dont?
and to get back to the original topic, for those who are obstructed, the jumbotron at barclays IS night-and-day better than the jumbotron in the coliseum, therefore watching the jumbotron wouldnt be that awful.
there are people who find themselves watching the jumbotron more than the ice/court regardless of if their seats are obstructed or not. - LetsGoIsles
It was a serious question bcs I dont see the point of going to a game if youre goong to watch it on tv anyway? I can see for a replay but I dont thibk its a big deal. DIfferent strokes for different folks I guess. |

Grabo & Kuli's contracts could be an issue. Wayyyyy overpayment for Grabo. Kuli not as much - like his play for a Euro. Not afraid to use the body. Grabo seems to confuse his linemates at times. Looks like he's trying to one-man rag the puck when 4 other guys in the same sweater kinda scratch their heads. - jmo16
I don't think so, bc the cap is eventually going to go up at least once or even twice within the next 3yrs remaining of both players contracts. Plus that's when Dal Colle should be ready to step in..... |

Also, re: E. Kane...
Let's not forget that with the CDN dollar being in the sh!tter, there's an incredibly likely chance that the cap ceiling stays stagnant for next season. Assuming a handful of obvious guys (Lubo, Carkner, Boulton mainly) are not in an Isles jersey next season, we're going to have in the neighborhood of ~$10M to deal with re-signing 2, 55, 29, 27 and 14.
We may already have an issue getting these guys all under a contract that makes both sides happy. Adding Kane's $5.25M cap hit is going to take up half of what we will have to work with. If anyone thinks Snow is going to trade highly touted prospects that are on very cap-friendly ELC's for a guy that's going to eat half of the remaining cap space...then hopefully you can give up the pipe dream of Evander Kane now. - eichiefs9
I think your cap numbers are off a bit. Right now we have 44 mil tied up for next year, so to sign those guys we'll have close to 25 mil to fill out the roster and we don't need a whole lot of bodies. We have 10 mil in cap space right now with yashin coming off the cap next year (2.2) and then if we let lubo walk and bring in reinhart or pulock there's three mil we saved on that. I don't think cap is going to be an issue, but it will need to be managed correctly. That's why I don't see the point in trading assets for a ufa we don't really want to sign.
*at a rough guess*
boychuk 6mil
leddy 4.5 mil
nelson 3 mil
lee 2.5mil
hickey 1.8mil
just a rough guess, without much thought put into it but that's 17.8 mil, leaving us about 6-7 mil in space to add reinhart and/or pulock. Plus if we moved out grabner or bailey that's another 3 in savings.
I don't expect us to add much in free agency, but we'd still have some wiggle room. If the cap does go up to 73, we're sitting at close to 10 after signing those guys (if those numbers end up being remotely accurate)
if I've missed something let me know, it can happen

Theres more chatter about the shoot out being gone next year and go to a 4x4 OT, to a 3x3 OT until someone wins, no more skills compt...
Edit: Not sure but I think I heard they are trying that format in AHL or somewhere and like the idea of no shoot-out (but not sure) |

Word expected from NYR this aft on extent of Henrik Lundvist's apparent throat injury. Seemingly lots of concern. We'll see soon enough.

the devils would still be the slowest team in the league if everyone else had to play in shoes.

Cptmjl or as I now refer to him "Scoop" reported detached retina from a contact lens.
No official word from Isles other than UBI/6-8weeks or that local LI newspaper that pretends to report news each day...Name escapes me...
It's eye surgery so I imagine the timetable is an estimate. Who knows how long it takes or if surgery has even been preformed yet. It may have happened at AMacs wedding - one last final FU from the guy. Thanks Amac.
They have scheduled KO Bobblehead night on Feb 14th. Wonder if they're updating all the heads with an eyepatch? |

Like how the Rangers aren't listing Hank's injury as an upper gastrointestinal injury.

detached retina could be a career ender. I hope its not a severe case. |

guessing if they've predicted 6-8 weeks the surgery went well, otherwise I'd expect them to have shut him down for the year and see how it went. Could still happen, I'm no doctor. |
