What if u heard the isles were in on Kane but didn't have enough to give compared to the other team???

Strait has no value, Bailey has increased his, regardless of what we think about him.... He may float around the ice, but he has accumulated points playing on 1st line *showcased* cough, cough...

- Ur Not Me

Whats to showcase though? His career stats are not impressive enough to pull a guy like Kane away from the Jets.
Tavares has shown that he can make those aorund him better which is what is happening with Bailey. Look at Moulson, I think he has 7 or 8 goals and has been crap ever since he was no longer with JT.
Take JT away from Bailey and you have an average player. Kane is a well above average player and can be dynamic at times. So from a Winnepeg standpoint, its probably not even a consideration.
The way I see it is that it would take one of the Isles top prospects at least to get Kane here.

in all honesty- it makes no difference to me.

id rather have a non-centered scoreboard that looks like this:

as opposed to a perfectly center scoreboard where i cant see the puck:

Why wouldn't you be able to see the puck?

Moulson = Vanek pretty good fetch
Bailey = don't know yet, but hopefully that will be another teams issue....
Amac = 2nd rd pick anything can happen

Kane's value is diminishing by the day. Especially as a healthy scratch. If you don't think a Reinhardt, Bailly, Dal Colle call would get it done you are mistaken.
- niteislander

no way in hell do I move all that for Kane.

I agree. The biggest need is head coach and maybe backup goalie.

I wouldn't trade both Dal Colle and Reinhart in a package for Evander Kane. Patrick Kane? sure. Evander Kane? No thanks.

That's the thing though...you can't see what's going on on the ice
- rangerdanger94

From a few hundred seats out of over 15,000, you may be right. But I will either buy seats in one of the 15,000 or so unobstructed seats or watch from home. There seems to be a misconception that half the building is an obstructed view. From what I've read, its only a few hundred of a shade over 15,000 seats that are obstructed.

Besides, watching the isles live from obstructed seats in Bklyn is better than watching them live in Quebec, Kansas City or Seattle.

Have you been to a hockey game there? I have. Moved all around the arena during the game to find "bad" views. Again, aside of the press seating at one end, there's very few seats with "obstructed" sight lines—most of those being caused by railings along the stairs, etc. Guesstimating about 5% of the total seating is a problem. A scoreboard can be put on a Gantry crane and shifted left to right to appease the biggest of the whiners.

Yeah that's the official marketing date, however if you called and were interested in tickets they would take your money believe me.
- nyisles7

I've been getting a call a week from a guy from the Islanders about Brooklyn tickets for over a month now. I've just been ignoring them but I guarantee you if I wanted to they'd be selling me a plan. I think they still have my name and number from when I bought one of those family four packs over five years ago.

Trading two of our top three prospects would be a terrible idea.

His value to WPG may be diminishing, but the market sets the price and there is no shortage of teams that are going to want a player like him. Plus WPG does not need to trade him. They can set their price, sit back with their feet up and watch the offers roll in. If they can't work a deal that benefits them they have no need to trade him. I'm positive that they'd rather try and make him comply with their team rules then lose him for a garbage return.

even if i wanted to watch the (not so)jumbrotron, i wouldnt be able to, bc it sucks in the coliseum.

to answer your question, no i dont watch it regardless of if its big/small non-hd/HD; however, i DO watch it during replays, you dont?

and to get back to the original topic, for those who are obstructed, the jumbotron at barclays IS night-and-day better than the jumbotron in the coliseum, therefore watching the jumbotron wouldnt be that awful.

there are people who find themselves watching the jumbotron more than the ice/court regardless of if their seats are obstructed or not.

Also, re: E. Kane...

Let's not forget that with the CDN dollar being in the sh!tter, there's an incredibly likely chance that the cap ceiling stays stagnant for next season. Assuming a handful of obvious guys (Lubo, Carkner, Boulton mainly) are not in an Isles jersey next season, we're going to have in the neighborhood of ~$10M to deal with re-signing 2, 55, 29, 27 and 14.

We may already have an issue getting these guys all under a contract that makes both sides happy. Adding Kane's $5.25M cap hit is going to take up half of what we will have to work with. If anyone thinks Snow is going to trade highly touted prospects that are on very cap-friendly ELC's for a guy that's going to eat half of the remaining cap space...then hopefully you can give up the pipe dream of Evander Kane now.

Totally agree, that's why I believe Grabner will get dealt now or off-season, maybe Bailey, and wouldn't shock me if Frans gets dealt in off-season too, especially if the shoot-out is no longer next year........

Yeah they'll sell them for cheaper and if they're winning they should be able to sell them. It also really depends on how obstructed they are? One of my buddies said he couldn't see from the blue line into the goal in one area that had a lot of seats. I don't know how many people are going to pay for that even at a discounted rate? Maybe they'll fix it or find a way to sell them(make them luxury boxes or something IDK?)?
- Cptmjl

I went to the Tampa game at the coliseum in December with a large family group and we had the seats in the first row right behind the Islanders bench. My seat ended up just past the end of the bench. My view of everything from that blue line to the far end of the rink was blocked by the players sitting on the bench. I ended up watching everything in that end and when the play moved out switched to watching on the big screen. I hated it and would never sit there again but I watch the games and those seats are always filled and always have been. Someone will buy those obstructed view seats..

Grabo & Kuli's contracts could be an issue. Wayyyyy overpayment for Grabo. Kuli not as much - like his play for a Euro. Not afraid to use the body. Grabo seems to confuse his linemates at times. Looks like he's trying to one-man rag the puck when 4 other guys in the same sweater kinda scratch their heads.
