I'm glad so many people in this forum know EXACTLY how 19 year old prospects are going to turn out.
I'd be lost with out you guys.

Nope, never said it was.
Just saying, there are a few parallels. - prock
Who knows, he could end up being just as bad. One thing I like is that he's already bigger and faster than Hodgson. I watched a few games from Horvat in London last year and he's gained speed despite putting on 5+ pounds over the summer. He felt more like a "safe" pick to me, we'll see what his upside is. |

They both played on the same team last year. Let's compare that. - KesselRules
Jesus H Christ.
Two completely different players. It would be like comparing Kessel with Bergeron. (frank) me, get over the hate. |

There's quite a few teams interested in both Santorelli and Franson, so I'm not so sure that Vancouver is willing to compete for their services. Rumors have teams offering a second for Santorelli (NYR) and a late 1st + prospect for Franson (Detroit, Sharks, Dallas, Anaheim, Colorado,NYI)? And there's no way that Vancouver will be willing to offer Horvat , Virtanen or Demko. So their offer will probably be with secondary prospects and a pick. Here's my guess with Vancouver's possible intent?
Franson + Santorelli for Markstrom + Corrado + 2nd
Both Santorelli & Franson get to go home, and Vancouver gets first dibs on signing them as free agents without giving up high end prospects.
Toronto gets a hometown boy in Corrado (probably he becomes a #4?) ; Markstrom gives them the ability to trade Bernier or Riemer with a competent backup in place.
Don't know if this is too little or too much? But at first glance seems fair? - JustHockeyTalk
not huge on this deal, or any deal that includes Santorelli/Franson, but it would be Lack in that deal, not Markstrom... they have already said that they are not gonna trade Markstrom
http://prohockeytalk.nbcs...markstrom-off-the-market/
i wouldn't mind Lack to the Oilers for Yakimov AS THE FRAMWORK FOR A DEAL with other peices included to balance the value.... EDM needs a goalie and VAN could use another decent center, make it work |

you know that could work and if they shipped Reimer away for 2nd would be awesome - zazzle
I would do franson(work out a sign n trade kinda thing) plus a prospect with Anaheim for Ritchie straight up |

[quote=KesselRules]I want a top prospect and 1st if he resigns numbnuts or can't you read. Keep spewing nonsense. Where's that comparable trade where a player like Franson gets just a 2nd. Still waiting. Having a hard time finding one.
Franson has already F'd over the leafs potential return for him by turning down $4.6 million.
Now all teams know what he THINKS he is worth.
Franson is worth 4.5 max.
COMPARABLE...... Jason Garrison traded for a 2nd rounder. - classic321
It is worth noting that Garrison had a NTC which hurt his value.

Vancouver needed to draft a centre anyway. So really who freaking cares if a few scouts had Domi ranked higher.
Domi obviously looked great at the world juniors but is yet to play a single game at the pro level.
I'm sure the Canucks are content with their selection - especially since he's only been with the big club for half a season. |

Yeah I love Kessel in the defensive zone.
And his back-check is 2nd to none.

NTC clause and salary dump limited garrison's value.
A 2nd + another pick is not unusual for a deadline deal for a UFA dman. - Tumbleweed

Yes the Bruins needing to get under the cap had nothing to do with that right?
Still too stupid to get the 1st is if he resigns. Don't worry it's expected.
What was the trade for Kyle Quincy. You know a trade that wasn't a salary dump? - KesselRules
3-way trade. Downie, Quincey, 1st round pick from Wings

But he wasn't a UFA.
Anyone who thinks Franson is going to get the Leafs a first round pick is out of their mind. |

To be fair, our prospect pool has sucked and is still not great so any half-decent prospect gets hyped like crazy. And AV/Gillis were giving him some of the easiest minutes on the team(high O-Zone starts, easy competition) which made him look better than he is. |

He could get a late 1st from a contender(assuming the cap works) IMO. But the trade this guy was suggesting was ridiculous. |

No it wasn't because Bo Horvat is worth a late first round. |
