Green seems to me to be more like the type of guy u trade for when you're really making a run at it and he's about to be UFA
He helps your PP in the short term, you aren't stuck with his contract, and your top4 is prob already set, so his defensive woes won't hurt u all that much

- jdfitz77

2 year 10-11 mil total?

sets the pp up for the next 2 years and if he likes it here he can sign another deal and end his career here

he is the type of player they need if they have goals to compete for the playoffs next season

if the plan is to hold the kids back and have another blah season, no reason to get him

What are you new? 89 is pretty reliable.

It's ok he has a right to his opinion, I don't expect everyone to believe me.

No, but if he never gets recalled, he can stay down there still next year. Plus, isn't there a period in the pre-season with free movement?
- stashu

My guess is that it will be irrelevant. If Grigorenko does end up in Rochester, you can be almost certain his camp will be requesting a trade, especially after how things went down at the beginning of the year.

Moulson's fault again I see
- SABRES 89

Moulson has even been able to play with our "elite" forwards, top line and he is still coming up empty. I didn't want him resigned, but his main purpose was to suck up salary cap space.

It the Ducks will really offer us 3 good pieces, one of them being Vatanen, I think I'd do it
I wouldn't mind getting Gibson from them

I don't think John Gibson would be a part of the deal, I know JR and a few others mentioned him, the Ducks don't seem to be happy with Bryz as a backup. Is Nick Ritchie that good? everyone else on here know's more about the players in the AHL then I do.

I'm not so sure about that. My guess is, having not heard/read any interviews, is that he understands his place right now and why he's in the AHL. I would hope he'd be able to understand that the best bet would be that he remains there at least for a portion of 15/16, if not the bulk/all of it still, as the Sabres will still be pretty crappy.

I'd be ok with that deal
And I don't think it'll hold too many of the kids back
Pysyk should be here next year, but I'd start McCabe in Rochester. He's had an up & down year.
I don't think Ruhwedel is anything more than a 6-7guy, so he wouldn't really factor into my thinking too much going forward

Heard a minute of Hockey Hotline this morning. Great point by Sylvester:

"The Sabres will be flying against the Habs because they don't want to make it 14 in a row."

Ah, so they weren't fired up after 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 losses?

- PassionBucket16

Montreal will be flying against the Sabres because they won't want to get beat by both the Coyotes and Sabres. How embarrassing would that be?

Nick Ritchie is a big player with good legs.

He could be the next Kassian or a Lucic. Or an extra diet Corey Perry.

The guy worked his ass off, did everything he was told to do over the summer, and he still got demoted. If that happens after another offseason, my guess is that he'd start to wonder if he was ever realistically part of this team's plan to begin with. Not that I disagreed with him being sent to Rochester, but if I'm the player, and I put that kind of effort in two years in a row, and still didn't get rewarded for it, I'm probably considering other options.

He is a cupcake away from quitting hockey

I hate players like him does not care about his body or hockey conditioning

If you're trying to get a stud winger get one that wants to be the best ever

It sounds good. but he concerns me because he was not always there every game (From what reports said)

That said not a single person has any idea of what he will become.

If the deal with the Ducks involves Vatanen, sign me up. That kid is great.

He's the Power Play QB we want.

One more reason why I think Nolan needs to be removed from head coach after this season.

You have to find a coach that will give this kid a chance playing with 2 other NHL players that have top 6 skill and a desire to work hard each shift.

Something Ruff, RR and Nolan have not done

Judging by JR's comments, it might be "Corey Perry Heavy".
