It is to me, he's a lazy ass player that has no business making 4 mill but that's the NHL for you. 40 points get's you 4 mill 80 points get's you 8 mill.
- SABRES 89

So...if he didn't make this 4 million you keep throwing out there, he wouldn't be mentioned at all??

I think they are in a tough spot. Vermette is a nice player but he isn't a top-line center and he is too old. It kind of reminds me of our over-valuing of Steve Ott last year (don't get me wrong - Vermette is the far superior player). This is another example of why you want to get your top guys first and then worry about everything else later.
- Slump Buster

Very true. The Yotes are just a much better team than the Sabres with or without Vermette though. They have averaged 32 SOG in their last 10 games. The Sabres haven't reached 32+ SOG in a game since December 15th.

He wasn't thrown away, the flyers traded him. And yea St. louis is still going at 40 because he's an incredible player, and even at his best on Tavares' wing Moulson still isn't in St. Louis class.

I'm sure Moulson will look better next year, but there are better options out there and his 5 mil cap hit could present a problem for us in the near future.

Sharp has had 4 good years IMO,

66 points 09/10
71 10/11
60 11/12
78 13/14

But I would have all those points as well if I had Toews and Kane riding along.

For Me there is no one on this team that gets a pass. Also I am not going to be too hard on any p[layer. Lets face it, this team was set up to fail.

Steve Bernier has five goals and six points in the Devils' last six games. Per Roto World

Where was he with the Sabres?

I've been anti-Moulson from the start, and while criticism of him (or anyone) on this team doesn't equate to "it's HIS fault!", there's something to be said about a guy who was touted as a "pure goal scorer" who has now had a streak of 1/5th of a regular season without a goal.

It's his 2nd 10+ game goal less streak of the season I believe.

And he probably had 5 points all season before that. That said, he did have that great first period of the first game with us....

I was watching that, then he went missing. I would have liked to kept Zubrus.

No doubt, He needs to score more. he is paid to be a scoring winger. Once he gets his "new Tavares" hopefully he picks it back up.

Yes, and he's criticized accordingly.

Me too, but not at that price. Another example of a guy being paid as if he was something more than what he is.

He makes 3.1, not bad. He was a big Center we needed.

I think the Stars at home is the best shot for Buffalo to avoid infamy.

He left for 3.4 a year in 2007. That's way too much for him, especially since we were up against the cap at that time.

Moulson is also a "net presence" guy, he's very good when he's in tight. VERY hard to get anything going when the Sabres have the puck for about 5-15% of a game on average. I think he will be a great 2nd liner moving forward once he has a go-to center.

Also, does anyone think Grigorenko has a shot as a center on this team going forward if we get McDavid/Eichel? I see people's "mock" line-ups and everyone has him as the 4th line center...that would be a disaster.

If we get McEichel, Grigs should be 2nd line wing.

There is no way that he passes Reinhart for 2nd line C. I don't know what kind of team they are going to build - maybe the 3rd line center?

Grigs will be moved to the wing or traded once his value goes up. With McEichel, Reinhart, and Girgs there's almost no hope of him as a future center for this team, and that sucks because IMO I think their is still hope that he could be pretty darn good at it.
