You can't figure out what he meant because of one missing letter? Not a good moment for you.

Shattenkirk to have abdominal surgery, out week to week following the surgery which is supposed to happen sometime in the next week.

I'm guessing a sports hernia? Hopefully he can keep himself in shape and be back to full speed by playoff time.

I think they'll be able to weather this pretty well though. Even though Shatty is getting some Norris consideration, he is not getting the toughest minutes. Where they will miss him most is on the power play. Other than that, Butler can fill in the 5 on 5 minutes good enough.

My 2 cents, I think if Alzner had been hurt, even a minor injury, Backes would have been suspended a game or more. I don't like it but the NHL seems to consider injury when determining if a suspension should be handed out but not weighing it a ton when a guy is hurt badly.

Nothing will change regarding the lack of respect players have for each other in the league until they fix this but the NHLPA fights fixing it because it costs players money. The injured players still get paid. The suspended players don't, hence the NHLPA sides with players facing suspension.

Hawk fans just want Backes suspended sio thye dont have to play against the blues with Backes on Sunday
- sycsam

Fixed for the ignorant hawk fan.

The Hawks still feel the Seabs hit on Backes was clean.

Sorry Carcus I would have joined in on the fun with you but I wanted to keep my sanity.

When talking to most hawk fans it's like talking to a brick wall. Nothing seems to get through.

Question of the day - will Shattenkirk's absence be as evident as Jaden Schwartz's injury was?

Shatty might be the guy the Blues could least afford to lose, even more so than Bouwmeester or Pietrangelo on the back line. Not only does he play great defensively, he's practically a forward on the ice with what he can do with the puck and especially on the PP.

Blues struggled a lot more with Schwartz out of the lineup than I expected they would.

It's real classy to hit a guy from behind? Loser!
- powerenforcer

You hurt my feelings. Now that I know what class is, I will be sure to not deal with the subject topic and use another great fallacy by calling someone a loser whom I disagree with.

Geez Tim Peel is notorious. He is such a terrible official he has inspired articles written about him.

But what got him suspended sadly was meeting in a bar with a blogger.

Talking trash and complaining about your employer will get you suspended every time. Can't be saying how he calls stuff just bc the leaugue wants to crack down on things, complain about always having to train green refs, saying they only get 2 unis and have to constantly wash them, etc.
