So these are the D that are rumored to be available
Franson, Myers, Green, Yandle

So the market is Probably soft for Franson

I believe it's Stee.

Should ban him just to be on the safe side.

Sekera, Petry, Kindl, insert a million other 3-4 dmen. Not too mention the rumors of Phanoof, OEL. and the off season with Seabrook, Oduya, or Hjarlmsson being available (unless they somehow can resign Seabrook without breaking up that d-corp)

Can't say I agree with much that Jeff O'Neill has to say …but I have to admit he's a pretty funny dude. Good guy to drink beer and laugh with I imagine.
- The Law

He used to get absolutely poopfaced, hurl abuse at the fans and piss in public during his Raleigh days.

Was a pretty good player for a little while, but a colossal bumhole.

At the draft, not before. imagine we wind up trading McDavid for a 6th overall pick?

Draft day deal, if Edmonton is top-2: Phaneuf, Nylander/Rielly, next year's first for Edmonton's 1st.

See if we can do it, and get Strome.

The other 3 guys come with term - a little different market for them b/c of Cap issues and price.

Some teams want pending UFA's.

He prolly spouted the truth. I doubt many in Raleigh have any clue about hockey while he was there.

*sigh*

He used to send me DM's on twitter talking about how stupid leafs fans are.

That was before he joined TSN.

True but for a rental the price is lower
But as we see..there are lots of options for teams..price will be low I bet

- Scabeh

Of course not. We don't see huge trades anymore outside of Boston or the Leafs (frank)ing themselves over occasionally. Would love to see OEL's on the Wings and would be willing to part with a poop ton to get him.

Imagine we made the Gorges trade..we would just have another player we couldnt move..instead of Franson who will get something back

Sounds like picks 1 and 2 (after the lottery) are not moving anywhere. Might be able to move to 3 or 4 to grab Strome if the right team lands there.
- The Law

Oh yea, I really doubt they move.

That's what I'd offer though.

Maybe try trading for 3/4, and keep ours... see if we can get Strome and Halfin/Marner/Kylington. Would be a nice way to kick-start the rebuild.

(frank)ing Nonis. tries to trade the guy in July, then offers him a long term deal in January.

I don't know what'll happen but ….RH dman who can take PP minutes and create offence. How many are available?

Green - Caps are in the playoffs. How do they trade him?
Yandle - has term and that's more of a summertime deal. Yotes will be looking for high picks + top young players.

I think Franson, Petry and Sekera are probably in a similar category so hopefully there's more than 3/4 teams looking to add. I think they do better than a #2.

So, do the Habs go for this year? Price is at his best …chemistry seems good …is the time right to sacrifice some future to add some more punch for the playoffs?

To be fair 90 percent of leafs fans wanted him dumped for anything...including me

Neither are.

Why do you guys think this?

Craig Conroy wants to punch Dion's head in to this day. There is a zero percent chance of Dion coming back to Calgary as long as Conroy is in management.

Edmonton doesn't want him either. That was confirmed long ago.

- Iggysbff

If CGY has interest in Phaneuf its in a salary dump situation. Something lime Phaneuf and Gardiner for a piece fron CGY. Then Treliving would look to retain salary and move Phansuf for another young piece/dp. Phaneuf is not popular here.

The most you can expect is a similar trade to what we did last year with Vanek.... Bergevin won't sell the farm for a chance at the cup this year.

But hey, with Price in net, Habs have a chance to win every game.

well problem there is that Montreal isn't too deep in that regard so i don't think you'll see Bergevin make any major additions. he's not going to sell out the future for a better shot now. unless it's a no brainer deal...
