That's simpler than the solution I had in mind.

I suggested an apology but it was a no go.

I hope Franson can fetch more than a 2nd.

Bozak, Lupul, Santo, Winnik, and Dion could fetch several 2/3rd round picks.. just stock up..thats a way to fast track things

He should... Most have him pegged to cash in in free agency which is probably accurate. Hard to see how a player gets a huge contract but then can't even bring a good return at the deadline.

There will be a bidding war and he goes for a 1st, IMO.

Rainbow trout, tuna, and Coho salmon are my favourites(and ... not a big fan of white fish, unless it's deep fried or stewed... or if it's a swordfish steak.

Sexual references is not suppose to be allowed on this site, each ref has discretion on how to handle it. Can't be referencing kids in that manner though as you have seen it is not welcomed at all here. I would apologize to the affected person if I did it.

Why is he even on this site in the first place.

Can't say I agree with much that Jeff O'Neill has to say …but I have to admit he's a pretty funny dude. Good guy to drink beer and laugh with I imagine.

At the draft, not before. imagine we wind up trading McDavid for a 6th overall pick?

Draft day deal, if Edmonton is top-2: Phaneuf, Nylander/Rielly, next year's first for Edmonton's 1st.

See if we can do it, and get Strome.

Sounds like picks 1 and 2 (after the lottery) are not moving anywhere. Might be able to move to 3 or 4 to grab Strome if the right team lands there.

I'm not sure that's possible.

Aside from Edmonton who may (and that's only a possibility) want to get NHL players NOW instead of another young prospect, teams getting a top 5 pick are in no position to acquire a guy like Phaneuf instead of a young guy like Strome.

I just don't see them being interested in a guy like Phaneuf for example.

So unless the guy being moved is a Kessel or a JVR... what's the point for the other team?

I would put it at 1% that any of the top 5 picks are moved...just doesnt happen anymore. Best thing is to just suck and get into the 3-5 range on your own

1 and 2 are out of the question. Trades between teams with 3 and maybe 5 or 6 could happen.

Oh sure, but it would either involve a good young player or the Leafs own first pick to move up.

At least that's how I see it.

Ya, I meant more like moving up in the draft. If the Leafs were at 5 could they swap up to 3 or 4 to grab Strome? If the Yotes landed at 4 would they drop to 5 ..and grab Marner?

Bobby Mac suggested the top 3 were a virtual lock and that there were the next 3 after that. Then the next 6 to form a top 12.

So moving into the top 3 would be tough …but maybe they can get to 4 at a cost.
