Nope.
here's the thing: We can move Dion, and not retain salary.
It may be not the greatest return but it is doable, no matter what anyone thinks.
retaining would be insanely stupid with the direction we are headed (shedding salary and loading up with picks and prospects)
Any deal to take on another bad contract or retain any salary is a step backwards - TheThrill
Then there will be no deal. |

As well, Nonis went to see Richards play his 1st game in the AHL. Obviously there is some interest. - Champ
Apparently, trip was booked for that game, before Richards was sent down. Either way, I don't Richards in TO, more bad Karma. Start fresh. |

Key word there is apparently, I think.
And, completely agree. Basically the complete opposite of what this team needs right now in terms of moves. |

I made a trade. Subban + Ward for Ovi and Phanoof. We had a person making an all black team. |

Id do it...Richardinson is the real deal. He will be a great top 6 two way winger in the NHL. - Santo_44
Not for retained salary AND taking on Horcoff's contract.
This is how we end up in our current situation. We want other team's assets so badly, we put ourselves in a terrible position just to obtain them.
How about we offload contracts for picks and prospects and develop our OWN guys? Novel concept, I know. But - and get THIS - if we have too many, then WE can trade them away for other teams who will put THEMSELVES in the bad position to obtain them.
Sort of like what the Leafs always do, but the opposite. Might be worth thinking about |

Maybe not with Edmonton
There will be a team willing to take on Phaneuf's entire contact. To think otherwise is insane |

They might have to retain some salary to get good value, but definitely no need to take on Horcoff. |

Those three were my biggest fantasy point producers. As much as I'm not a fan of Phaneuf, he racks in the fantasy points. |
