Good Lord.

Matt Read's -8, R.J. Umberger's -11.

Sean Couturier is Even.

For the love of all that is good and pure, somebody get that young man some help

What he's doing, what he's carrying, is beyond the call of duty

Straka is an interesting player. Has the size and skating of an NHL player. I guess he'll get pushed out of the lineup when raffl returns, but he shouldn't.

Of it were up to me vinny would sit in order to get a longer look at the player

Straka has been an effective player. It's nice.

The pipeline isn't full by any stretch of the word- but make no mistake. Laughton, Straka, and VDV have all had positive effects on this team.

That's what you need in the long run. You don't need touted players in the AHL to call up. You need the non touted ones to surprise everyone.

I understand that he's going back -- I saw a couple things I thought he could work on -- but I see where you are coming from

Maybe the kid's a flash in the pan. Maybe he's an AHL-NHL tweener. Maybe he's Jason Akeson 2.0.

But he was a second-round pick. Maybe he's Tomas Tatar or Gustav Nyquist, too

At some point, the Flyers will need need to drop a kid in there for a half-season and find out. Doesn't have to be now, or next week. But at some point, these kids will need more than two games here and there, 7 minutes here, 11 minutes there

At the very least, they're all clearly better than Rinaldo

Any chance Mason gets first star/player of the week? He was lights out.
- TobyFlenderson

Nope. Everyone in the nhl knows the flyers still need a goalie.

Wish they would try Jake with Coots and Simmonds with G. It puts Simmer and Coots in the best situation to succeed offensively.

Clement said it
"Looks like a #1 defenseman to me".
He's playing just as well without the puck, as he is with it!

I didn't say it had to be White and Straka. I said they are examples of what it looks like when the Flyers put either actual NHL talent, hockey sense or players into the bottom 9.

Personally speaking, I believe Zac Rinaldo is one our most hard working players some nights, he's just not talented.

I dont know. I think coots is just not offensively good enough to be with simmer. I cant tell if its the current line mates he has or he just isnt going to give the o punch. I think the second line center is B Schenn. Just my opinion and you look to move coots or laughton at the draft for an upgrade at left wing or d.

I think you are correct about " the structure" of the Leafs. A team cannot be built around Phil Kessel. He is simply not that player. He can ONLY score goals.. And that comes in streaks. Would not want him on my team. They have no #1 centre and Dion is not a 50 million dollar Dman. I think JVR is their best player, and just wish we still had him
- 3flyerkids

I don't really listen when people nitpick about JvR now that he's not one of us. Not the best defensive wingers in the league but you can do worse. It's not like Voracek haa never cheated before leaving the zone. Voracek was guilty of it during the half season where he was probably our best player at times. Truth be told, put JvR with G and Jake and he's probably a top five point producer too. Heck, you aren't cheating a little, you aren't trying to win. This how we often beat Crosby. JvR might not play the right way but if we did, we'd be far into the playoff race right.

The fact that they move Schenn around the lineup tells me they aren't sure what to do with him. If they though he was 2C he would have been in the spot all year. I wouldn't be surprised to see Schenn moved before Couturier.

Yes, ask Ovechkin about this, JVR, like Kessel struggles to play 3 zone game.

I like this, I thought Coots, & Simmonds both need a boost, it would be harder for the opposition to shadow one line.

I was on the fence about Rinaldo...you might remember that. I gave him credit for working hard, and trying to change his game. I thought he had the potential to turn himself into Lappy-lite. ESPECIALLY after the season he put forth in 13-14.

But enough is enough.

To be really strict, even that good season, the biggest change was that he drew enough penalties to offset the ones he took. He made some moderate strides to being better as an all around guy, but still had aways to go

This is kinda where I was at with Rinaldo, as well.

I never understood how such a big deal was made out of Rinaldo's presence on the team and felt he was working harder to become someone who contributes more.

He lost me with that Letang hit and more so, with his flippant reaction to it afterwards.

A little more development time is best, and hopefully he saw and they told him what he needs to work on with some details/guidance

In my nightmares, the conversation goes, "We're sending you down. Work hard and you'll make it back."

Player: "What should I work on?"

"Oh, you know. Be responsible. Just continue to work hard."

I have always given him credit for working hard, and always will. Not everyone does.

He is also a plus skater, too. And he hits, hits hard.

But he isn't an NHL player for a playoff team. That doesn't mean he should hang up the skates. It means the Flyers need to upgrade his roster slot
