If you have pride, you work out in the off season like you promised when they didn't buy you out at the end of last year.

Glad to see his maturity level has improved

This alarms me. The lack of a sarcasm smiley, that is.

What happened? Figures -- I had a $5 I could have given you. I didn't even think of that. Sorry, man.

Adam Hall's absence hurts the PK and the faceoffs that must be taken in the defensive zone are now handled by a guy Chief insists must improve offensively but only recently has his offensive zone starts outnumbered his defensive ones (Couturier). Still, Couts is en route to his best season yet.

If you look at his stats they'll tell you that but has he taken a solid step forward in his development? I really have to say no. Can he? I sure hope so.

His article on tanking today was pitiful. He's acting like this four game winning streak is occurring in the last two weeks of the regular season. And that's exactly what I told him.

Without Hall, it's hard to gauge because asking someone to step up offensively while taking on such a commanding defensive role (where he STILL excels and seems to be even better at reading/reacting) is laughable. Had Hall been retained, Couturier would be allowed even more offensive reign. Of course, the stupidity of Matt Read being allowed to play through an ankle sprain stymies the offense he brings -- and that stymies his center's offense as well.

So they are going to be stuck with same mediocre D next year?

I guess in 2017 we may see significant changes.

- Marc D

My hope is that teams closer to the salary floor will take some bad contracts and buy them out. Vain hope, probably, but it's all we really have...

Did you read and click on it? Will others because of your comments here and on Twitter?

Then 'Mission Accomplished' by Frank. Generating clicks -- and ad revenue from said clicks -- is Job # 1 of all philly.com writers nowadays.

Flyers don't play for 5 days. Best to get him into AHL action rather than sit idle in Philly.

They could be. I do think we see a couple deadline deals, but if there's real movement, it's more likely at the draft or next TDL

I think you severely over-estimate his puck moving (especially when it comes to clearing the puck). MacDonald is not even an above average puck mover. When he plays with a bit of aggressiveness in his offensive game I would agree, but overall he is so/so in my eyes. As a defensive d-man, maybe you are on to something, as he is much better than Schenn and Grossmann.
- jak521

I think you underestimate his puck moving ability, especially in traffic. He's solid in that area.

Haha, I didn't think of it at all either (well, until I saw the sign). Total brainfart on my end. Fortunately, the cop they had talk to me (after a bit of a wait) was feeling merciful and waved me along.

Well if you don't know how the standings work how are you going to know how the lottery works? It's a lot more complicated than the standings you know?

My wish list.... considering the reality of the situation.

1. Trade Coburn
2. Trade Grossmann
3. Trade Vinny
4. Trade Umberger
5. Trade Amac

- GOA88

I don't mind AMac. You see what guys like Engalland and Stoner are making and you have got to think at some point if the cap keeps going up that they will be making the same as MacDonald in the near future. Of course if the cap goes down then we have an issue.....
