I respect Patty for trying to win.

I don't think it's necessary for me to post again about Nolan's accomplishments.

I am pretty sure you know what they are as well as every other poster here.

The man has not failed anywhere he has been and that is actually a fact no matter what any variable people with agenda want to try to criticize Teddy for having success.
He didn't fail is what is important to me otherwise I would not be defending him.

LaFontaine should have been shown the door if he was trying to turn around the roster. It is one thing not to want to tank. It is quite another to make moves that would have been disastrous.

The man had two stints in the NHL. From what I have read most do not believe he has the chops to be a big-time NHL head coach. I have no reason to think he is anything better than the Ron Rolstons of the world.

Yes He's rebuilding a team. This is a rebuild. I don't know why a rebuild has to be explained. Darcy started the rebuild. Murray is now in the middle of the rebuild. THe rebuild will continue into next year. I'm totally cool with the product Murray has put on the ice. You don't become good overnight. Nolan is still a terrible coah in my opinion. He can't get a team to win a game in 14 trys is pretty terrible. Just my perspective.

Have you ever played organized sports?
Confidence in yourself and the players that surround you mean everything in a team sport.
This does not shock me at all that the streak has gotten this far.
They are void of any confidence at all.
That's not the coach, it's the players mentality.

But Murray is great right, I mean what is your opinion on what kind of job Murray is doing?

Have you seen him help his coach at all this season?

Think about that.

This roster is void of confidence in the worst way.

I don't think the player on the ice has any confidence in the team mate that is on the ice with him to do anything positive.

Once this losing streak got past 8 you could see it in each players body language if not at some point during a game, you'd see it in an interview.

That's the worst type of lack of confidence to have in a team sport, the very worst.

Sorry but in my opinion that has nothing to do with coaching, its just lack of talent period.

Murray is doing fine. I think hes all in on the tank. hes got his "buy it now" prices out there on his pending ufas, some will drop of course, but hes asking for a ton right now. He has an idea what he thinks a winner will look like, and hes looking for guys that have drive, talent, and size to play the game that he wants to play. i think he got a reasonable return at the deadline last year- other gms are hedging their bets more now with conditions built in to trades. at last years draft the rumor was he tried to package his 3 seconds to move back into the first- fair value on paper, but found no takers. Thats his challenge going forward- finding takers on some quantity for quality deals.

Yes I have. It's part of the coahes job to get his players prepared for games. This is the most unprepared team I'v ever seen.

Agreed. and it's going as planned . But...

Can Nolan coach a team to win? Make the team do a 180?

I'm not so sure. Could be just what he was told to do. and make it look good.

I honestly have more faith in TM building this team than Darcy. TM hasn't had the opportunity to change the make up of the team. This trade DD and the draft will tell the story. Can't knock the guy yet. We gave Darcy s decade +.
- cabin

Oh, I am not knocking Murray yet Cab.

But he has been dealt a winning hand.

What he does with it I find very compelling.

I have no opinion on Murray either way yet. There is not enough history nor experience for him on his own away from his Uncles shadow, for me to be critical either way of him.

My point was simply that, you can't blame the coach for the shltty play when the shltty roster has been supplied to him by the GM that has done next to zero to help his coach out this season to get some more wins by having some more talent on the team and not washed up NHL has beens.
People want it both ways.
You can't beat down the coach that has had success where ever he has been for this roster and its play and then in the same breath praise a novice GM that has done absolutely nothing.
It can't happen that way and it's just void really of any common sense in my opinion.
It clearly screams the word agenda to me.

I'm not so sure either. Next year is the big test for him. THe roster is going to be drastically different and if he can't improve the performance or if he handles the young guys the wrong way I think he will be out the door.

What has Nolan won again?... Theres a reason he was out of the NHL for many years. No team wanted him as a coach for a reason.

First off , I respect Pat Lafontaine and I respect his morals.
I'll just leave that there.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet, many people have agenda.

But SB , it's your view and it's cool.

So when the team was winning it was the coach (Teddy has them playing like a team) but when they are losing it's the players/GMs fault (Teddy was dealt this poopty roster/the players suck)?
Can there be any blame on the coaching staff?

Same with our last GM. But TM has too small a sample size to judge either way. So I stay neutral on my take on him.

I am no fan of Nolan (I think he was purposely hired to be a placeholder) but there is no way that you can judge him on this year.

We have very little on which to judge Murray. I think he is going to be a good GM but that is speculation.

Can't Judge a guy with one year on the job. Doesn't make any sense. Hes layed out a plan and hes following it to a tee. He has been brutaly honest which I like.

Confidence and not mention all the injuries this team incurred at once.

Injuries have played a role in this as well.

Absolutely zero cohesion as of late to go hand in hand with zero confidence.

That makes a team look like the Sabres have been looking as of late, not good.

Those games they one , I can say yes. Very possible it was the coach getting them going . Could be TM told Nolan to tone it back a bit. We will prolly never know the real story.
