Has anyone said they don't want Eichel at #2?

You just can't accept McDavid is the clear cut better player can you?

- sbroads24

no you make it out like Mcdavid <<<<<<<<<<< Jack Eichel

when it's 1A - 1B close "if" Eichel was in the CHL he have the same numbers or better

me neither, gerbs...but the general consensus is the McDavid is all that and a bag of chips...i'll take eichel as a "consolation prize" any time...sure would be nice to land McDavid, though

It's on the players and the coaching staff. They both have been terrible. You can't say one is doing good and the other isn't. It's been a big conglomorate of sucking.
- Cheeseballin

So let me get this straight, you are trying to say that the GM is not responsible for this at all?
If you are, I don't agree.

It's not 1a or 1b though. Last year it was, hence why we probably still were going to take Reinhart at #1.

McDavid is 1, Eichel is 2. I want the best player in the draft, if we get Eichel after finishing last, yea I'll be a little disappointed

If they weren't in the same year no one would care, they would love to have either. I like that they are in the same year due to the fact that we will get one of them. I would hate to sit thru this year without the knowledge that we get one of them.

Darcy was resposible for this. Murray is finishing it off for him. Which most people are on board with.

very cool that the nhl didn't change the rules for this season, which, btw, constitutes the last year of selling off a large group of ufa's at the deadline

Darcy has put Murray in an enviable position with all the picks for starters, Murray has done nothing!

And you just said it yourself without you possibly even knowing it.

"Murray is finishing it off for him".

That's an unconscious admission to the piss poor talent that is currently on this roster that Nolan has no control over but needs to and has no choice but to coach every night.

And yet, you still want to blame Nolan?

I just don't get it sorry.

But it's cool, it's your POV.

Lafontaine admired Nolan's "coaching ability" which also speaks volumes.

The man has never failed anywhere he has been which many just want to overlook as well or merely throw some excuse in there as to why Ted's team did so well.
It's old, it's gotten very very old.

- BuffaloHardHat

1) LaFontaine's like or dislike for Nolans' coachability means just about nothing. Keep in mind that this stellar management mind wanted to try to save the season last year by signing the UFAs (Miller, Ott, etc). Thankfully he is no longer running the team (if he ever really was).

2) He hasn't failed anywhere? Please tell me his success stories.

To be honest, I don't watch Jr hockey at all with the exception of the WJC but when I watched it two years ago I thought Eichel was better than McDavid. After watching it this year, I'd give the edge to McDavid. Both will be stars in the NHL and I would love to either one.

From a statistical standpoint I agree. From a subjective standpoint it's fair to say that the one positive that was existing for a while is no longer.

It was visible that the younger players were improving, even if it didn't show in the #s. It's not the case now.

I wanted some of them to go into next year with a little momentum

- sbroads24

The idea of finishing strong is an absolute myth. Talent will give us all of the momentum we need. I can't imagine what it is like to be a D on this team. The forwards can't get any pressure in the O zone so they are constantly under durress. I think we are seeing the culmination of weeks of this kind of play.

Yes He's rebuilding a team. This is a rebuild. I don't know why a rebuild has to be explained. Darcy started the rebuild. Murray is now in the middle of the rebuild. THe rebuild will continue into next year. I'm totally cool with the product Murray has put on the ice. You don't become good overnight. Nolan is still a terrible coah in my opinion. He can't get a team to win a game in 14 trys is pretty terrible. Just my perspective.

I was just reading the story about the girl who was kicked out of school and arrested for being a good egg in the school library. It is currently the first story on What Would Tyler Durden do (wwtdd.com) - I didn't want to post the link. The site is borderline sfw, the video is not.

I honestly have more faith in TM building this team than Darcy. TM hasn't had the opportunity to change the make up of the team. This trade DD and the draft will tell the story. Can't knock the guy yet. We gave Darcy s decade +.

I respect Patty for trying to win.

I don't think it's necessary for me to post again about Nolan's accomplishments.

I am pretty sure you know what they are as well as every other poster here.

The man has not failed anywhere he has been and that is actually a fact no matter what any variable people with agenda want to try to criticize Teddy for having success.
He didn't fail is what is important to me otherwise I would not be defending him.

What has Nolan won again?... Theres a reason he was out of the NHL for many years. No team wanted him as a coach for a reason.
