I'm not bashing Hutton, but he did his job this game. Even Scrivens had a 50+ shutout. This was not one of those games. The defense really pulled their weight this game against an offensive juggernaut, though.

True to bad the defense and offense didn't pull their weight the other night when we got shut out. I agree stop with the Hutton bashing people. The guy had a lot of rust to knock off.

Hutton has played well, not great, but well. His backup has done the same. They are both backups compared to Rinne.

Oh I see, when the the D steps up its the D that gets the credit, but when the D doesn't step up, it's Hutton's fault.

Okay, I totally get it. I assure you that I'm not insinuating that Hutton is taking us anywhere special. But all this Hutton bashing isn't warranted.

This was pretty much the first game this season that Hutton didn't let in one or two softies. He doesn't have to be perfect, but until today, you could count on the fact that he' let those easy ones in. I'm happy for him. I'm happy the defense didn't suck in front of him, however, the defense was particularly sucky against Colorado and I felt that Maz was much more composed in net than Hutton ever is.

I don't compare him to Pekka, EVER! I don't expect him to steal games for us the way Pekka does, but I do expect him to be a solid, capable, NHL backup, and lots of times he isn't. This is one game. I hope to see more of it. I'm just not counting on it because he's too inconsistent.

Up until yesterday, the guy has been a dumpster fire in net. The Pens had him beaten several times yesterday and had atleast two go off of the iron.

Settle down on the Hutton love. He played well yesterday but otherwise has been below average this season.
